The harsh reality is our Federal, State and Local governments could have and should been prepared for such a pandemic and raised the alarm the moment the virus started spreading in China.

Regardless of when it officially started spreading in China, when China did notify the international community semi-extreme measures should have been taken.

I understand that Trump was attempting to calm the public's fears with statements like "it is just the flu" and "no reason to panic," but he should have been preparing for this awful plague since January 1st.

The Trump cult will try and defends Trump's inactions over the virus. However, the general public will remember stuff like

Trump ignoring expert medical advice and saying my hunch tells me the virus is nothing.

Trump saying the virus will magically go away in a few weeks when the warmer weather comes.

Trump saying the virus is nothing to worry about.

Trump saying we only have about 15 people infected with the virus. I expect that number to go to zero in a short while.

Trump saying it's safe to go to work if you have the virus.

Trump saying flying and breathing in recycled air is safe.

Trump going on golfing weekends during the pandemic.

Trump doing too little too late in relation to trying to stop the spread of the virus in the USA

Trump boasting/lying about how well he had prepared for the pandemic.

A lot of people don't even get sick.
A lot of people get moderately sick.
Almost all of the deaths have one of about five underlying conditions. One of those, Type II diabetes, is a matter of the person's personal choices, that is, they choose to eat certain things and they get it.
Most of the remaining deaths are people who are really old. Some of those people need to die, but I know a lot of you are "as long as possible by any means necessary" adherents.
There are effective treatments.
