That's fine if you want to do it that way. The point is I shouldn't be banned from using one if I want to. There are plenty of jobs a leaf blower is far better at than a broom. It takes me 10 minutes to clean my barn floor with one. It would take all day doing it with a broom and still wouldn't look as good.

The Village of Sleepy Hollow is temporarily banning the use of leaf blowers to make sure residents are safe during the coronavirus pandemic.

Effective immediately, all leaf blower use is banned for the duration of the pandemic.

I second that! Leaf blowers are extremely loud, and they make nasty fumes. You can especially notice this in NYC, where sounds echo up between buildings sort of like the Grand Canyon,

I've never seen that done but I have seen people sweeping snow off steps and driveways. There is a simple and practical reason for it. Snow is often heavy (unless you get that fresh stuff that's fluffly) and can be too difficult to lift for some people.

Not everyone can afford an "odd job guy" or fancy equipment so they make do with something that works. It's called being an adult.
