The Breakfast of GLP Champions: Musings of an Old-timer
An unexpected consequence of being confined under stay-at-home mandates is that we do a lot more of something we don't normally have the time in our busy lives to do ... think. We do so with more resolve and clarity. We study; we research; we postulate.

Most of us GLP aficionados come here for news headlines, insightful commentary, and esoteric discussions. Moreover, we occasionally enjoy our engaged perusals with a scrumptious plate of savory doom.

Sometimes, it's served with a full highball glass of refined fear. Some merely sip this intoxicating ale while others quaff the tasty beverage with vigor.

Lately, here just like in the analog world, we're being served a plentiful buffet of fresh doom and a variety of tempting aromatic fears to wash it down.

The Breakfast of GLP Champions: a scrumptious plate of savory doom served with a full highball glass of refined fear.

Re: The Breakfast of GLP Champions: Musings of an Old-timer
Fear is an unproductive filter from which to view the world.

This reactive emotion can precipitate anger, torment, hesitation, anxiety, and stress.

And, more importantly with regard to the currently contrived circumstances, it can make us more susceptible to compliance to the dictates of otherwise questionable entities promising to mitigate (over time) the perceived danger.

Most of us here, through years of situational analysis, have learned to question official narratives. We have developed a determination to delve deeper in our curiosity to learn the truth ... to pull back layered veils of deception.

Thus, by deferring our innate fear response, we tend to have a more logical perspective and we often perceive and prepare accordingly.

Moreover, I posit that a primary (un)intended consequence of perusing GLP threads for years is that our clarity today is vastly more acute than that of the average person.

In short, we have been training for years for these Days of Despair. At the present time, it's utter stupidity to even consider our old blithe normalcy bias.

Remember the Frog Boil Theory? For us, every few days the heat is increased another notch. Yet, we are still long taxing days from the ominous boiling point.

Most folks bemuse that the boiling water killed the frog. But, the few of us who truly understand, realize that the truth about what killed the frog was its own inability to decide when it had to jump out. We know where this is headed.

Our time to jump is nigh!

literal breakfast:

I have made Jack LaLanne's great protein breakfast quite a few times lately.

ground beef and eggs cracked into it are the main ingredients... really great with hot Fresno peppers and whatever else - cumin maybe

Never ask a GLP'er that question! LOL chuckle

I've given my answer before, but from what I have heard there will be more asteroids and incoming meteor storm doom. Also, the Covid 19 will probably hang around a lot longer than we want.

One aspect...

What do you think will happen as a result many of America's recently unemployed receiving more funds in unemployment insurance to stay at home than they made while producing and/or serving?

Will they want to return to work for less money?

Will prices in the few open stores increase sharply?

Why isn't there a national concerted effort to use hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin? Why wait a full year for FDA approval of a vaccine when we can heal 90+% right now?

I don't doubt that COVID 19 is real, but why is it being overblown in the media is the question.

Like I was telling my friend today, they are calling for retired nurses to come back, but at the same time there are lay offs of nursing personnel in parts of the country. Something is up.

Also, I have never seen so many neighbors tattling on others for simply having a function with less than 10 people. Some neighbors on a local facebook group are calling the police on people.

Lord help us all if the sheep are acting like this now, just wait til it gets worse.

Indeed, I also believe that the COVID-19 disease is real and that individuals process it differently. But, I do suspect that the SARS-CoV-2 virus was genetically modified.

The upside of your neighborhood tattler episodes is that now the others know who they can trust.
