That late 1930's Depression photo ISN'T the 1920's, which were very joyous times, not depressing ones. Yes, there was a depression but that was years later.

That was an excellent movie, where a man time travels by accident into the 1920's in Paris. Now I'll have to watch it again.

He meets a whole bunch of the "lost generation" people there. Very well written and produced.

Both sets of my beloved late grandparents met and got married in the 1920's. It was a wonderful time to be alive, then.

It looks nice from the outside, but trust me, from the inside it wasn't so great, especially for the lady folk.

"Back in Time for Dinner" series ought to give you a bit of an idea of just how hard those earlier times actually were :D

(I suggest the Canadian edition, the UK one is too different a culture, where they expect to have servants and the like to try to look hip)

That version of the Charleston was recorded in the mid 1950's with many of the original musicians from the 20's in the orchestra! They were called The Charleston City All Stars before Enoch Light took over the Orchestra and rerecorded it in glorious STEREO in 1962. That version wasn't as good as the original.
