Anonymous Coward User ID: 29412599 United States 04/07/2020 11:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It’s because Zoom is for enterprise businesses. It’s kind of a phenomenon that it is landing on regular folks apps. That being said it works better than CISCO WebEx and Gotomeeting. In the old days a video conference room would need a server and codec streaming platform to do multi bridge video conference calls and it was super pricey. Zoom kind of simplified all of this and was reliable. I cannot tell you how hard it is for lost businesses to just get a simple conference call going. Business guys are not as smart as us web geeks. It takes on most other platforms 10 to 15 minutes for everyone to just join the stupid meeting. Quoting: NiceZebra Well the creator was with CISCO WebEx. |

The business people use Zoom... So lame. We have Microsoft Surface Hubs on the dev floors and they are awesome! I have actually been routed into OTHER companies meetings when using Zoom. Like WTF!?!? |

Easy to invite anyone without them installing anything. I had a meeting today with 5 people and it was fast and everyone could share their desktop with the crowd easily in between the video chat fullscreen. |

Every time they are involved it takes for fucking ever to start the damn meeting... Like WTF is so hard about it... You've done it like 500 times and you still have a hard time with it? Anonymous Coward User ID: 77596885 United States 04/07/2020 11:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is something that has been bugging the shit out of me. I don’t watch much tv so i don’t recall seeing any ads for it. I’ve not seen any ads online for it. Just one day everyone is using the “exciting, new app”. Quoting: GhostProphet This exact app has existed for decades in the form of yahoo chat, messengers, Skype, what’s app, google hangouts, etc. Where did this app come from that it just skyrocketed into takeover mode and is being treated by everyone from governments to elementary schools, like it’s the only app available for video conferencing. Something just doesn’t sit right with me about this app. Anyone else feeling suspect about it? I’ve wondered about it too...like it was designed for this “pandemic” and I find it odd...never had heard of it before and then it’s everywhere! But I find a lot of the quick coordination of all these so-called protective health measures suspicious. Everyone jumped on board the Covid-19 bandwagon way too fast without asking questions...too orchestrated...it all smells very fishy to me. |

Download the app. Come on, really, you can trust it because everyone else does. Put it on a tablet and send your kid into a room with it alone so they can learn from Bubba, the new online tutor for your precious little angels. 5G, ultrasound, WiFi, and Bubba on Zoom will fix them up right. |

Unbelievable. Parents just started doing using Zoom to work from home ...so their first thought is to put 7 and 8 year olds on Zoom too! We declined. |
