I can't say I like it, but it's probably better that it does, just to keep everybody semi-honest. But the dimwitcrats, as currently configured, cannot tolerate the wait until their inevitable return to power. Could it be that they know they'll never retake the White House? I'd like to think they'll never retake it. It'd take a good dimwitcrat, and I'm not sure such a thing exists. Or are they thinking that in his second term, Trump will, in all likelihood, have the opportunity to restructure the Supreme Court? And this new power balance might result in Roe v. Wade being re-examined? I find this hard to believe, too. Is abortion THAT important to them? Yes. It is. For a long, long time, I thought the matter of abortion "rights" was of no consequence as a political issue. I don't think it should be a governmental concern, period. It's morally the wrongest thing imaginable, but it IS the woman's body. Good luck finding a doctor who'll do your bidding. But somewhere along the line, I realized that abortion provides the perfect litmus test to separate good and bad. No good person favors abortion, and ALL bad people cherish the fact that they have this "right". Losing it will cause them to lose it. This goes a long way toward explaining the Cavanaugh confirmation hysterics. But that was just the opening act, and it didn't work out for the dimwitcrats. The coming five years are critical. The coming five years could turn into 25 years, too. I'd like to think that the pendulum won't ever swing back, but I'm afraid that's wishful thinking. |
