This makes me think of a video I just watched recently that said there are 2 kinds of people:

1) The kind that gather apples from apple trees, then cut down oak trees for firewood so that they have more apples to eat next year.

2) And the kind that gather apples from apple trees, then cut down the apple trees for firewood and starve next year.

Then he said that the reason Western Civilization became great was because it was built by the kind of people in example 1.

These are vagrants, they have no ability to sustain themselves, have no skills and no redeemable qualities. They have come and vacationed for a few years, now it is time to go HOME.

You have the wrong idea there. When a dairy farmer cannot get his milk picked up, when it cannot be taken care of he can't even give it away! Do you think a thousand cars are going to drive out to his farm everyday, EVERYDAY, with some plastic milk jugs to carry it home? But the cows HAVE TO BE MILKED twice a day, EVERYDAY. What would you do with the milk?

When even the cheese makers had to shut down because of the Wu Wu Flu? They could not take the milk. Milk must be refrigerated! It can go bad in just hours.

And what are your plans for 10 acres of beautiful ripe strawberries when no workers are allowed to go to the farms because of the virus lock down?

Farmers feel for their livestock and for the carefully tended to crops of all kinds. It breaks their hearts to see the crops rotting in the fields or in the warehouses.

You think it is all about money. You really should be one of the millions of people who will die of starvation in the coming years because our farmers were given no help in the fields, no understanding for what they need to get stock to your table, and banks who only think of their own money and profits.

My sister and I spent 10 days in September 2006 on Lesvos (Mytilini) at the wonderful. Ovatsala Hotel. We walked up into the hills , through the ancient olive groves and down into a village. It was beautiful! Those trees were ancient.
We also went into the nearby main town, Mytinini, and it was a quaint , seaside town with lovely outdoor seating and beautiful views.
Now the olive groves are gone & Ive read the town is over whelmed with migrants. Not so sleepy anymore.
It was about the most favorite place I’ve ever been. So sad for the islanders that it is all gone.
