There is NO DAMN FOOD!!!

I placed a delivery order yesterday 4/7/20 with Kroger, Getting delivered today. All generic canned vegetables are out of stock! All kroger brand canned goods, and Kroger branded products are out here in Little Rock.

I have been getting texts while they are trying to fulfill my order with about 12 different replacements! Something is up!

All bean products have been replaced with something else. 80% of my order has been replaced with a higher priced product!!!

This means my bill is going up by about 30% at least. So basically food prices are going up due to the fact the generic store brands are not available and we will now have to procure the goods if we want them at a higher price.

It's mushroom and wild onions season. Also mustard greens and wild asparagus. Soon, edible tubers starting to reveal themselves and poke coming up. My yard is natural because I have chickens, no roundup or pesticides. It's mowed but around the edges it's wild. Lots of that kind of wild edibles. It will be helpful if it comes down to it. Poke and wild onion scrambled eggs sounds awful but it's something.

I work at a grocery store overnight stocking food.

Tuna fish, peanut butter and ramen noodles are slim pickings.

Everything else there's tons of. You're either full of shit or an idiot.

Obviously I may not live where you do but people generally buy the same common items everywhere.

There are no food shortages. If the store doesn't have what you want you could *gasp*...eat something else.

Mine are out of some items. Obviously paper products. Only a few cheaper fresh meats. All of the fucking chicken nuggets were gone.

They pretty much had everything else. Tons of veggies and fruit, any dairy items you could want and lots of eggs.

Looked more like a truck was late rather than a pandemic.

Upstate New York. Have ordered this past week.

Wegmans only out of two things on my big order. All meat department items, chicken, pork, beef in stock. All very fresh.

Walmart had all items on order.

BJs out of TP and Dawn dish soap.

As far as what you should eat, learn to cook. Many recipes on line.

well change your items? I have only been in my store.. a week ago and 95% of what I use was available. Probably 75% when I made my first ever delivery order a couple weeks or so ago.

My good friend is not seeing that much missing yesterday when she shopped at the same store.. All I can say.

You're right. I have 2 good neighbors that I can feed, already give them free eggs.
My garden is growing great but it doesn't look like a garden, mostly containers and raised beds. Only thing in the ground is some corn & okra.
Just installed padlocks on all the hen house doors.
Didn't lock up the crazy Rooster though, that boy will tear everyone up like a pit bull.
I use a trashcan lid like a shield when I need to mess with him.

Any "raiders", i.e., thieves, will be dealt with quickly.

Theft will not be tolerated.

If someone lays "siege" to my neighbors, they will find me BEHIND their lines taking out the trash from 800 yards.

BTW, I have no sympathy for those who did not prepare. We had plenty of warning. If people would eat basic food and cook at home, they would not be so poor.

I worked my way out of BK and ZERO funds to where I have a home, business, farm, vehicles, etc. all paid off.

Its simple. No restaurants, movies, booze, clubs, or other silliness. I worked every day for what I have.

All the cheap(er) stuff is gone

In my area of Southern WV there is NO delivery of these food services. I tried the Walmart Order Online a state over from me and it says the queck is full for the next 2 days...is this normal??? So do they message me when they get a spot for me or what?

There was 2 full months for everyone here on GLP to prepare. We all knew 5hiscwould happen. There are countless prepping threads for this event alone as far back as January.

I listen to my wise GLP cronies and as a result I haven't been to a store in over a month.

Got short ribs, potatoes & carrots in the slow cooker right now. Gonna be great over rice.

Pay attention next time OP.

On a side note. Everyone who can - do a big shopping run before the fucking stimulus checks come out. Will probably be a surge again once that happens.

also if you do not have emergency dried food stores; you better be buying what dried and can items you can find.

Prioritize what you consume. Fresh > Frozen > Canned > Dried.

I make an attempt yo replenish the first two before touching canned. Won't touch dried stores until we truly get to SHTF status.

8f you have Amazon Prime there is a whole foods delivery service.

For Walmart you may have to keep trying to checkout to get a delivery time.

In either case expect about 30 percent of your order to get filled.

In 7 days I'm guessing all major cities will be Mad Max. At least you're not in one if those.

Get a good grain grinder.

I am buying wheat at $.70/lb.

Pinto beans at $1.04/lb.

Flour = $.70/lb.

Lentils = $1.20/lb.

That's just stuff from the Mormon store coming on the truck.

Craigs List has goats at around $100 each. Slaughter one in your backyard and have meat for a month or so.

Went to the 24hr Grocery Store here in semi-rural Pa at 3:15am last night. Zero other shoppers and everything was well stocked. ( even toilet paper )

So far all this SHTF stuff has had no impact on my lifestyle. Still playing guitars and building hotrods in the garage 18 hrs a day.

Also : OMAD ( one meal a day ) is the way to go. Builds lean muscle, strengthens your immune system, and makes your food stocks last longer.

B s. Went to the store today and the only thing they still don't have is TP.

PLENTY OF FOOD. Better than it has been in weeks.
