Mmm, but you don't actually need such a machine, and doing it by hand gives you a sense of satisfaction upon munching on your delicious over-fresh creation.

Baguettes are an easy place to start, everyone loves a good baguette, sliced, diced, sandwhiched, garlic-breaded, whatever you feel!

Focaccia is also super easy, if you have good olive oil and some nice italian style herbs - you can't make this in a bread machine, you need to spread it out completely on a standard cookie sheet - and once done you can cut it up into strips, toast them in the oven for some crunchiness (on the outside), and serve them with a nice tomato/garlic/herb marinara dip sauce.

Also if you do it by hand, you can get creative, like one time while making buns I decided to amuse myself, and it turned out rather nice:

Also pizza dough is a nice project - home made pizza is a fun family project, if you have little ones!

Yup...I suck at bread making.

The one time I used it I just threw in the exact amounts of what is told me to & then I closed the lid & hit the button...a few hours later I had an oddly shaped loaf of bread...but it was delicious!

The book it came with has all kinds of recipes for all types of breads.

somebody told me if you put a couple of tablespoons

of Soy flour in the mix it makes the bread super soft

on the inside, just like the bread you use to buy at a bakery.

BTW, I always make my own bread in my machine.

Easy, peasy. Tastes great when you add Italian spices.

I love mine. Use it all the time.

Especially the pizza dough.

I make enough for 4 12" pizzas, use 1 and freeze the rest of the dough for the next few weeks.

I take one out the night before I want pizza, let it thaw til morning then throw it in the fridge till I get home that night with pizza making.

Warm it up roll it out bake it for 10 mins then throw on the sauce, cheese and ingredients.

Better than any cardboard pizza from the best pizzaria!

I grew up with bread, but since i discovered spicy Mexican foods,Taco Bell we use more tortilla , bread seems to cause bloating , harder to digest. Tortilla is more practical than bread sandwiches, can easy fill it up with anything , cheese, meats veggies , microwave, grill it, deep it in sower cream, hot sauces, tastes better.

Welp...I have the first test loaf processing now...A 1 pound loaf even though this thing can make a 2 pound loaf.

The flour has got to be over 10 years old...but atleast there are no weavels in it because I froze it all them years ago.

MAN...there is NO WAY to not spill flour! You just can't! What a friggan mess!

Me too! Been cooking & baking since I was 3...but I never got the hang of breads.

Although I can make a great cake or brownies from a box...and I'm pretty good with pancakes & french toasted banana bread

I just learned that if you add a couple of tblspoons of soy flour, it makes the inside super soft and the outside slightly crisp like fresh bakery bread.


The key to making good bread is making sure the yeast is properly activated, I use a little Warm milk, flour, sugar and honey to activate the yeast.

Makes it grow and bubble like crazy

I regularly use mine to just mix and knead the dough and let it rise (mine has a setting on it for just that portion of the recipe) and then I turn it out and form it and add anything extra I want and do the second rise and bake in the oven (so I guess I'd say it was semi-handmade). Really tastes good if you put ice cubes or water in a pan on the shelf underneath, or you can just spritz the bottom of the oven several times in the first 10 minutes to add the steam which gives it a crustier exterior.

Good thing you found it. You cant find them in stores anymore and the ones you do find are 200-300 bucks. I paid 34 for mine 2 years ago and love it. Wanted to buy my daughter one..NOPE cant find it. Looked on EBAY and the same machine was being sold for up to 600 bucks. I couldn’t believe it. I did find her one and its coming this week. Hold on to that bad boy. Enjoy..

It works, but be sure to get the right flour. Much of American flour is crap.

I grow flour corn in my back yard & save it for seed.

I should grind some into flour & see how it works. Too many projects while under quarantine...I'll never get my tomatoes planted.

If you have trouble making bread, you can use it for the dough making process only and then bake it off in the oven. I do this all of the time even though I can make a good loaf of bread. But it is so easy to throw the ingredients in and let the machine do the work.
