I was in the ER on March 14 for the virus and I had my phone with me the whole time I was there - about 6 hours. I was moved into a special room quickly. Phone was never taken away. As a matter of fact a nurse helped me plug in the charger. Btw- I went home after that. I was sick for a couple of weeks before and for about a week after. I am fine now. This is 2G news. Literally. 3G and 4G, LTE, should have minimal impact on any equipment in the ER. Not to mention, the only people in the ER inviting potential Covid-19 patients would be other potential covid-19 patients. Not a huge issue to me to use your phone in the ER. If the hospital wants them banned from their ER, they could just as easily faraday cage the ER so signal can't be received. VA hospitals tend to be set up like this usually. |

It actually does sound a lot like the viral infection I had in 2012 (a coronavirus) that put me down in isolation for 3 months. Hated it.
