6,000 families line up for hours at a Texas Food bank

It's only been 3 weeks, and if they didn't have any money saved or food put aside, then why do they have luxuries like nice cars, cellphones, etc.?

They probably have 3-4 65" OLED TV's at home, a boat or two, eat out 4-5 times per week, subscribe to all the premium sports channels, etc.

Any available food should be for the truly destitute first, and then what's left over can be handed out to the "I don't know how to manage my money" crowd.

Many people don’t plan well at all. Hopefully this scare will change some people for the better. Children should have 3 meals a day. Adults can get by with one or two. Many adults have high blood pressure and diabetes from overeating. Losing weight would be a plus in so many ways.

LOL - city folk who cannot do anything more than manage take-out are going to shoot a deer (with their pistols that have been hidden in their bedside drawers and not shot for years, if ever). Even if they manage to kill and smuggle one out of some rancher's property, they won't have a clue as to how to clean it. They don't have fishing poles and equipment. You have to have some minimum of skills and equipment to be successful at hunting and fishing, and most people do not have that (at least not city folk).

The parents have gotten lazy. They expect schools to feed their kids breakfast and lunch (and in some cities, dinner). So they never have to cook - just do a takeout dinner and they are good to go. All they buy to eat at home are snack foods like chips, pop, crackers, popcorn, and maybe a gallon of milk and some coffee. I guess it's no wonder that when TSHTF they panic because they have no food in the house and cannot afford to go out and spend $250 to buy a couple of weeks' worth. Then what happens after those two weeks are up and they lose their jobs?

The food bank here is by appointment only and it's probably that way at most of them.
