You better buy a bigger gas tank - at 50 cents a gallon soon, get some underground tanks.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78761991

Trump said in his briefing today that he had talked to Russia, Saudi's and Mexico and they had agreed to cut production, so that low gas price might not last much longer.

in the long term that sounds like a win for all but im not an economist.

It will stabilize the oil market, my concern is that in my area the stores are only about 60% stocked and limit purchases, So what happens when all of the people who were laid off 3 weeks ago or more get their money and storm the stores.

I wrote a warning thread but it didn't get any reply's last night, I bumped it this morning but still nothing, Oh well at least I tried.

Good information in your thread, 5 stars.

Thank you friend hf

Certainly can be hard to get a good warning thread any traction at times. If you could copy and paste that post over to here with at least the state your in at some point this weekend ill add it to the list im gonna start on the OP later today. Or just provide the name of the thread and i can go off that if you would like. With all the noise GLP generates I think its good to have one centralized thread. Im off to bed finally. Its 5am here after putting in a 12 hr shift. Until later today evveryone all worries

In yesterday's press conference, Trump made it sound like the food facility in Denver was an attack. That's when he said the invisible enemy was very smart, like the food supply chain is targeted.

If you think that it's stressed now then wait until millions of people get their stimulus checks this week, I'm going to two stores today and topping off my preps and my gas tank.

Demand has crashed. That is the only reason for low gas prices now. Once the hyperinflation sets in from the 5 trillion newly printed money, it will go back up again. Also the cheeseburger will go from $2 to $600. Buy the fuck out of everything you might need with that "stimulus token check" before it is worthless. The next stimulus check will buy you a half stick of gum.

I disagree. The infrastructure is there to flip it back on. What will take time is consumer confidence. We need to get pass the virus hysteria.

The infrastructure is at home, collecting a government check and jerking off to porno. They will not be coming back anytime soon. The longer the machine is turned off, the harder it is to turn it on with every single business under debt stress and bankruptcy soon.

All jokes aside the federal government wont allow the infrastructure to collapse under these conditions. The steps taken may have inflicted serious damage but we are not quite there yet. Millions may be unemployed now and that is leading to trump considering opening thingas back up. If a 2nd wave of outbreaks hit, it will be catastrophic and leave only 2 choices. Allow it to run its course like in the UK initially or shut it down again which could destroy the american economy. Just my worthless 2 cents.

they are creating food shortages now, as we speak. been going a long time----fruit, veg, milk, meat spoiling---wasted. food processing factories close down due to "sick workers"
if there is a food shortage the govt/military will say theres not enough to feed everybody. what food we have should go to "essential workers only"....."sorry about that"

Yep, I am following it myself. Thanks for the information, it was helpful.

Prayers for the OP. And I also been gathering information on it too. But like everything else, we doomed ourselves already a very very long time ago. Big Corporations and less and less facilities. It is all real sad.

Then you have specific industry classifications and with the restaurants closed, tons and tons food lost cause no one to buy it. Really sad too again.

I can go on and on but really, thanks for the information.

Yes and schools are not going to be going back until fall, maybe.

I just seems to me that they could put cases of lunch milk on an empty shelf, at least there would be something( even if it came in little cartons, and the produce could be picked by consumers.

We have several orchards and fruit farms around here that will just charge by the bushel, or sell beans and other veg by the pound.

It is sad that most people would be to lazy to pick it themselves.

I have been prepped for a long time and yes, I am poor. This really has not effected me too much cause I planned and speculated on all this over a decade ago at least. Even practiced bugout for the hell of it now, which is way way more fun. And I tweaked it really good.

I pray for people all the time still. I wish no one harm and only goodwill. But it takes years not prepare with items, but your mind. Good luck and God Bless.

Central Louisiana here. Gas is $1.68 a gallon. Walmart yesterday had no flour, no yeast, no ramen noodles, no toilet paper, few cleaning products, limits on eggs and veg oil. Lots of produce and meats. Everyone wearing masks. Only self checkout open. Someone outside monitoring how many people in and out of store.

I’m in mid-Florida area. Small town, just 35+k or so people in the county. 20 cases of the virus.

The Wal-Mart e as described above, half-full, but very low or out of staples.

So went to Publix to fill a scrip for a sick friend (NOT Covid related, but surgery). Their stores have been more well-stocked all along, but this was not a shopping trip, so I couldn’t say what conditions were like yesterday. On the way out, overhead a cashier commenting to a customer about some product that was no longer being shipped from the warehouse. Thought to myself this sounded like the beginning of supply-chain disruptions. What was in warehouses is now depleted.

Re: Food supply chains starting to crack under Covid-19.
I work as a data collection analyst for a major company. So its my job to search through reports for four to five hours every night and everything I read makes me want to shit in my pants.

Just tonight I read an article about Canadian farmers warning about potential food shortages because they couldn't get migrant labors in order to plant crops.

But that is just one example.

Other examples in the turd world countries is that the governments aren't allowing the farmers to ship their products to markets. So the crops are basically rotting in the field.

Or another example I saw the other night is that the EU returned a shipment back to Uruguay of about 1,200 lbs of premium meats due to lack of demand. i.e. meat that normally goes to expensive restaurants and hotels.

Or another example I saw a couple of days ago where cocoa farmers are facing hardships because the cost of cocoa is dropping below the cost that it takes for them to grow it.

And another example that I read that there were two major meat packers in the country that had to close down in order to sanitize the place because a worker got diagnosed with covid. Let me ask you how can businesses keep doing this and stay in business with a disease like this especially when sanitizing chemicals are in short supply? Imagine a company owner and having to close for 48 hours every few days.

So please people if you haven't started preparations you better. Don't be like the fuck tards that think this is gonna get better because it won't. Think about it for a second. They are using this virus as an excuse to shut down the worlds economy, and they are letting prisoners lose in order to create a crisis like the world has never seen before.

Imagine how desperate people will get when unemployment reaches over 30% and there are no government checks coming to feed you or your children. Now add a bunch of criminal scum that had no issue robbing, raping and killing during the best of times but now its the worst of times.. wtf do you think those criminals will be doing?

Think long and hard. Trump is the only one talking about getting rid of the lockdowns soon. Where as the Democrats and the media the only thing they know is lock it down and those fuckers are talking about locking us down till sometime in June. News flash this shit has only been going on for a few weeks and unemployment has jumped to 14 percent and at this level states are having difficulty paying for those benefits. But when it reaches 30% the states won't have money nor will you be able to find a job.

So if you have money do whatever you can to prepare even if its picking up some more pasta, beans and rice at the grocery store each time you visit. And if you have a job and overtime is available snag up as much as you can handle because that job might not be there in a couple more months.

Re: Food supply chains starting to crack under Covid-19.
If you are looking for food items, start checking local restaurants. Panera and Waffle House are now selling their food stocks direct to public - even referring to themselves as proving “Groceries”.

Waffle House almost appears to be close to a fire sale - they had a full menu of items they are selling. I’m guessing they are trying to keep the lights on and if they can’t manage they will sell everything they can to limit losses.
