Unable to cross into Ontario from Quebec unless it's essential travel..

I live in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. I have relatives on the Ontario side, across the river. My brother and mother live in Ottawa.

All bridges in and out of quebec/ontario now have checkpoints. And the cops are asking why I want to cross the bridge. What the hell is going on?

I was told to turn back when I told them I was delivering beer. Even tho the beer was purchased in Quebec. My brother is at risk and he is locked down at his apartment in Ottawa and cant go out.

I resent that in a supposed free country, that I no longer have freedom of movement in a country I grew up in and love.

God help us all.
