God creates the opportunities for us to glorify Him. He is the tree and we're just branches on the tree.

I agree one should be mentally prepared to glorify God but you can't just get up one day and say, 'today I am going to change the world and glorify God'.

It doesn't work that way. Most of what we think is righteousness is nothing but filthy rags, so says the Word. Prepare your mind, learn and mature in the Holy Spirit then when the opportunities arise it will be second nature to glorify God with your actions.
