I suspect it is just the none-too-bright antivaxers who are posting this criticism of Bill Gates.

These antivaxers do not seem to be able to understand that vaccines are nearly 100% safe. Vaccines do cause adverse effects sometimes, but then so does everything.

When you go for a drive in your car, you don't expect to be involved in an accident, but it does occasionally happen. Yet nobody with any common sense would suggest that we ban cars because of the fact that they are not 100% totally safe.

But the antivaxers argue that we should stop using vaccines just because very occasionally they might cause adverse effects.

That logic makes no sense, but then that's the antivaxers for you.



We should appreciate the lifesaving power of vaccines, but at the same time, we should strive to create even safer vaccines, just like car manufacturers strive to make their cars safer, with seatbelts, airbags and crumple zones.

In fact Bill Gates is investing in a project to create a safer form of vaccine known as a laser vaccine. A laser vaccine uses pure laser light to stimulate an immune response, which is both more effective and safer than the standard aluminium adjuvant placed in vaccines, which is also there to stimulate the immune system.
