Power Outage in Michigan

Southern Michigan, Metro Detroit area, has been experiencing power outages over the last two days. My power went out for a short period of time on Saturday; members of my family experienced a power outage all day today, as well. Power has been restored but cable and internet were still out as of a couple hours ago.

I’ve been reading warnings about “three days of darkness” upwards to ten days and have been preparing for this over the last few weeks. With that being said, has anyone else been experiencing power outages and if so, why? Weather hasn’t been too terrible here and there’s truly no reason for mass outages.
