Why do so many emergency service personnel have incorrectly fitted masks?

Time after time I see photos and videos of doctors, nurses, paramedics and law enforcement wearing masks that are completely ineffective due to the huge gaps at the sides and the bridge of the nose. Many haven’t even crimped the little metal band on the bridge of their nose so air is passing freely past the mask and into their mouths.

I’ve also seen many people with beards wearing the masks which is frankly absurd.

Keep an eye out for the poor fitting masks thing, you’ll be amazed once you start to notice them.
