Can't tell you about NC, but there have been petitions in GA to shut down parks. Living in a National Forest myself, I'll give you the perspective of the locals regarding Atlanta people driving up for a day or longer: They camp on land that isn't theirs. They buy all the products in our grocery stores because it is safer for them to shop up here. They don't follow the 6-foot rules, wear masks or gloves and many of the locals are elderly. They are the ones who brought the virus to this part of the state. Our police don't want to deal with them. Our EMS don't want to deal with them. Our firemen don't want to deal with their out-of-control campfires. Our hospitals aren't equipped to take in a bunch of Atlanta people who all the sudden come up sick. We have actually got several counties who won't allow out-of-country tags in them.
