If he was in the house for three days with symptoms, shouldn't other people in house also have been infected? Quoting: ReoX He tested positive for the virus. I honestly don't know if it was the virus directly that got him, or if it was a combination of complications from the virus. He got pneumonia. He had the ground-glass opacity in his lungs on imaging. My understanding is that there was infection aside from the lungs. I believe his kidneys and heart had some complications along the way too, but ultimately were determined to be okay. His liver function tests at one point were super elevated, but surprisingly ended up coming down into the normal range and remaining stable. Nanny, papa, my aunt and my cousin all lived together. My aunt had gotten a low grade fever shortly after papa was hospitalized but it went away within a day or so and hasn't returned. Everyone at their house is currently symptom free and it's been a few weeks since papa was last home. I assume, and pray, this means the rest of them are safe from this round of the virus being so close to them. Definitely weird, I agree. ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

My family is so devastated right now and we all need some prayers. Quoting: Simple27 Due to the current restrictions, this incredibly wonderful man died without any of us being able to be by his side. That part hits me the hardest. My nanny (grandmother) is shattered. They were together since they were 13 years old. They were just as in love now as they were then. They were the perfect example of true love. Nanny has been sleeping with one of his t-shirts while he has been in the hospital. A little history... Papa started having symptoms on Monday, March 23rd. By Thursday, March 26th the symptoms had gotten bad and my nanny had to call 911. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was admitted and officially tested for the virus. He tested positive. [link to imgur.com (secure)] Nanny had given me papa's online patient portal login information while he was in the hospital which is why I have access to that above screenshot. Friday, March 27th they had to put him on oxygen and by Sunday, March 29th he was on a ventilator. There have been so many ups and downs since the 29th. Even more so in just this past week. But today the doctor said papa's body had stopped fighting and that they were going to take him off the ventilator as there was nothing more they could do for him. He said it wouldn't be long after papa came off the ventilator, and he was correct sadly. Papa passed away within hours. They said they kept him sedated and comfortable. Papa didn't deserve this painful, lonely death. He was 78 years old, mostly healthy. He has a great-grandson being born in July (my sister's baby). I just ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers. This is so very hard. Even harder because we can't be together during this time. :( Oh... Oh, no... So very sorry, Simple. I don't even have words. And I'm sure they wouldn't be adequate even if I did. My most sincere condolences. ad ignorantiam - The assumption of a conclusion or fact based primarily on lack of evidence to the contrary.
