So, I was watching old episodes, and for some strange reason, I was drawn to this one. The last 4 minutes of this show.... um, care to guess what happens? And the telling clue, is when Spock says, "Yes it happened, but that was 5,000 years ago, and she's dead and buried long ago." Guess what happens next - a stellar nova that destroys the planet. 1969AD + 2241BC Third Age Destruction , The Flood = 4,210 YEARS - close enough for asteriods or micro novas it seems.
