Thanks for responding so quickly. Over the past year, my understanding is that something big this way comes...but it's not a one-off event, and possibly a number of different, seemingly unrelated things like gravitational waves and whatever comes every 13,000 years or so to send us starting all over again after we come out of its ice age.

The asteroids you mentioned, if cyclic, seems to fit the bill.

And, then there's Apophis passing close in a few years, before it returns with a big Badda boom.
