Wow! How did I miss this thread?

Thanks for the info OP...I'm going to read the
whole thread today. I'll comment later on.

Meanwhile, this is my thread (pinned) today which
is ALSO about your topic you may find interesting!

Ben Davidson has his OWN "TAKE" ON THE COMING DISASTER
--He believes it to be some type of energy field that
comes from SAG A toward our solar system that will be
the trigger.

However, Dr. Paul LaViolette (who I champion) has written
a book on his theory (also now proven a FACT but current
astronomers) that it is a SAG. A. GALACTIC CORE ERUPTION
(also on a cycle) which causes the problems. There are
some really cool videos out on Laviolette's take (just
as there are links on my thread to Ben Davidson's and
Douglas Vogt's theories.) Whatever is going hit us...
It is waiting to POUNCE and we need to brace ourselves.

THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 4 YEARS EVER SINCE A GUY NAMED MIKE FROM AROUND THE WORLD TOLD US ALONG WITH Paul LaViolette PH.D
HE an author of Secrets of Antigravity Propulsion, Subquantum Kinetics, Earth Under Fire, Genesis of the Cosmos, Decoding the Message of the Pulsars, Galactic Superwaves and their Impact on the Earth, and is editor of A Systems View of Man. He has also published many original papers in physics, astronomy, climatology, systems theory, and psychology.

This is no johnny come lately with no legs. It is building and it's power is shown evident in the growing volcano (inner earth involvement) along with earthquake swarms.

The real culprit is that 90% of all star systems are a binary solar system that rotates around one another. Ours is almost here. This is why since the Gore days, "Climate Change was so pushed" Now it has another name. They had their timing off!

We are about one year away from the epitome. Then after the consummate arrival then as it exits is where the real damage ensues. Get ready!

The majority of all civilizations have records of this happening and they are in unison.

don't dispel this by ignorance or fear, the signs are there and inside you know they are going to be dealt with. so you have one instruction book that goes into detail on everything. It's in most everyone's home.

It's too bad that it will come to mans avoidance to truth, then it will be too late.

Deflect 'Armageddon' asteroids with rockets, Chinese researchers propose

Less than 50%.

Chinese researchers want to send more than 20 of China's largest rockets to practice turning away a sizable asteroid - a technique that may eventually be crucial if a killer rock is on a collision course with Earth.

The idea is more than science fiction. Sometime between late 2021 to early 2022, the United States will launch a robotic spacecraft to intercept two asteroids relatively close to Earth.

When it arrives a year later, the NASA spacecraft will crash-land on the smaller of the two rocky bodies to see how much the asteroid's trajectory changes. It will be humanity's first try at changing the course of a celestial body.

At China's National Space Science Center, researchers found in simulations that 23 Long March 5 rockets hitting simultaneously could deflect a large asteroid from its original path by a distance 1.4 times the Earth's radius.

Repurposed communications satellites could help save humanity from an asteroid impact.

Less than 50%

What do you do if you discover a big rock on a collision course with Earth and have very little time to take action?

Large satellites used for TV broadcasting could be quickly and easily repurposed as asteroid deflectors if a space rock were to threaten Earth, according to a study by the European aerospace company Airbus.

The study, part of a mission concept called Fast Kinetic Deflection (FastKD), was commissioned by the European Space Agency (ESA), as part of its effort to prepare for an apocalyptic scenario that will certainly happen one day (even though that day might be in a very distant future).

Telecommunication satellites that sit in the so-called geostationary orbit at the altitude of 22,000 miles (36,000 kilometers) circle Earth at a speed that matches the rotation of the planet, thus appearing permanently suspended above a certain region. These satellites are usually very large, like a small bus. They might weigh 4 to 6 tons, which would give them enough force to affect the trajectory of an approaching space rock.

Still, as Albert Falke, who led the FastKD study at Airbus, told Space.com, it would require maybe 10 such spacecraft hitting a 1,000-foot-wide (300 meters) asteroid within a short period of time to sufficiently change its trajectory to avoid the planet.

MIT engineers devise a decision map to identify the best mission type to deflect an incoming asteroid.

Less than 50%

On April 13, 2029, an icy chunk of space rock, wider than the Eiffel Tower is tall, will streak by Earth at 30 kilometers per second, grazing the planet’s sphere of geostationary satellites. It will be the closest approach by one of the largest asteroids crossing Earth’s orbit in the next decade.

Observations of the asteroid, known as 99942 Apophis, for the Egyptian god of chaos, once suggested that its 2029 flyby would take it through a gravitational keyhole — a location in Earth’s gravity field that would tug the asteroid’s trajectory such that on its next flyby, in the year 2036, it would likely make a devastating impact.

Thankfully, more recent observations have confirmed that the asteroid will sling by Earth without incident in both 2029 and 2036. Nevertheless, most scientists believe it is never too early to consider strategies for deflecting an asteroid if one were ever on a crash course with our home planet.

Now MIT researchers have devised a framework for deciding which type of mission would be most successful in deflecting an incoming asteroid. Their decision method takes into account an asteroid’s mass and momentum, its proximity to a gravitational keyhole, and the amount of warning time that scientists have of an impending collision — all of which have degrees of uncertainty, which the researchers also factor in to identify the most successful mission for a given asteroid.

The researchers applied their method to Apophis, and Bennu, another near-Earth asteroid which is the target of OSIRIS-REx, an operational NASA mission that plans to return a sample of Bennu’s surface material to Earth in 2023. REXIS, an instrument designed and built by students at MIT, is also part of this mission and its task is to characterize the abundance of chemical elements at the surface.

In a paper appearing this month in the journal Acta Astronautica, the researchers use their decision map to lay out the type of mission that would likely have the most success in deflecting Apophis and Bennu, in various scenarios in which the asteroids may be headed toward a gravitational keyhole. They say the method could be used to design the optimal mission configuration and campaign to deflect a potentially hazardous near-Earth asteroid.

Earth-Crossing Asteroids
How can we detect, measure and deflect them?

Less than 50%

Can we do anything about an asteroid that is destined to hit the Earth? The answer is, yes, providing that it is small enough and that we have enough time to send a spacecraft to deflect it. As we will see, the longer the warning time we have, the larger the asteroid we will be able manage. Many of the aspects of asteroid impact mitigation were summarized in the Spaceguard Report. More recently, NASA has also completed a study and is being used by congress to decide what steps the US and other nations can and should take.

Astronomers have spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to save the Earth from an asteroid impact. First you have to find all the asteroids, calculate their orbits and see which ones come dangerously close to Earth. Once you know the orbit, you can figure out when it will hit. This tells you how much warning time you have. And finally, if you can figure out the asteroid’s mass, you can compute how hard you have to push it in order to change its orbit just enough to miss the Earth. Hollywood’s notion of sending a bomb to “blow it up” is unrealistic because present-day launch vehicles can’t carry a big enough bomb. Besides, instead of one large body, you might end up with many small fragments headed toward Earth.

NASA has led 7 asteroid-impact simulations. Only once did experts figure out how to stop the space rock from hitting Earth.

Less than 50%

In a recent simulation, a fictitious asteroid was approaching Earth but experts couldn't stop it.

NASA has led seven such simulations, and the participants only fully stopped the asteroid once.

It shows how challenging it would be to stop an Earth-bound space rock, even with ample warning.

An international group of space experts have been bested by a hypothetical asteroid. Again.

In a planetary-defense simulation that NASA led last month, more than 200 participants from about two dozen countries learned that a fictitious space rock was set to strike Earth in six months. They put their heads together to investigate every possible way to avoid the impact. But in the end, the group determined that no existing technologies could stop the asteroid, given the limited warning time in the scenario. The rock ended up razing eastern Europe.

How Humanity Could Deflect a Giant Killer Asteroid

Less than 50%

Humanity has the skills and know-how to deflect a killer asteroid of virtually any size, as long as the incoming space rock is spotted with enough lead time, experts say.

Our species could even nudge off course a 6-mile-wide (10 kilometers) behemoth like the one that dispatched the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. We'd likely have to slam multiple spacecraft into a gigantic asteroid over a period of several decades to do the job, but the high stakes would motivate such a strong and sustained response, researchers say.

"If you can hit it with a kinetic impactor, you can hit it with 10 or 100 of them," former NASA astronaut Ed Lu, chairman and CEO of the nonprofit B612 Foundation, which is devoted to protecting Earth against asteroid strikes, said during a news conference last month. [Photos: Potentially Dangerous Asteroids Up Close]

"And I would submit to you that if we were finding an asteroid that's going to wipe out all life on Earth, or the majority of life on Earth, that funding is not an issue for launching 100 of them," Lu added.

Undiscovered asteroids

Lu and four other spaceflyers spoke Oct. 25 at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. A primary purpose of the event was to draw attention to the danger asteroids pose to human civilization and life on Earth, and to discuss ways to mitigate the threat.

NASA's Plan to Deflect Would-Be Killer Asteroids
Astronomers are trying to deflect a near-Earth asteroid for the first time, to prepare for a future object on a collision course with the planet.

Less than 50%

(Inside Science) -- Science fiction books and films have frequently featured the threat of a giant asteroid colliding with our planet and making humans go the way of the dinosaurs. But smaller space rocks also pose threats, and they tend to be harder to spot in advance.

A massive asteroid on a collision course would sail through our atmosphere and explosively burst in the air or crater the ground. Its invasion would initiate blasts of fire and thermal radiation, and likely cause numerous casualties. Even asteroids falling into the ocean could drive tsunamis or earthquakes -- and even create undersea craters.

But if space scientists become aware of the threat of a hazardous asteroid early enough, they might be able to give it enough of a nudge to knock it off its disastrous course, long before it approached Earth. That’s the idea behind NASA’s Double Asteroid Redirection Test, known as DART. It's a spacecraft that’s set to launch in 2021, on course to deliberately smash into an asteroid in the fall of 2022.

Scientists test how to deflect asteroids with nuclear blasts

A study looks at how to use nuclear detonations to prevent asteroids from hitting Earth.

Less than 50%

Researchers studied strategies that could deflect a large asteroid from hitting Earth.
They focused on the effect of detonating a nuclear device near an asteroid.
Varying the amount and location of the energy released could affect the deflection.

Large asteroids don't tend to hit Earth very often. But when they do, major cataclysms result. Remember the dinosaurs?

Add to this the fact that since 1998, scientists have detected about 25,000 near-Earth asteroids, while in 2020 alone, a record 107 of them came closer to our planet than the distance to the moon. With so many asteroids floating by, protecting our planet from impacts by these giant space bodies is an existential priority.

To prepare for the day when an asteroid will be heading our way, a joint study published in Acta Astronautica from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and the Air Force, looked at how to use neutron energy output from a nuclear blast to deflect such a threat.

Re: What's really going on?
DART, NASA's test to stop an asteroid from hitting Earth

Less than 50%

Highlights

DART is the first planetary defense mission to test a method of deflecting an asteroid on course to hit Earth.

The threat from asteroid impacts is small, but real—and preventable. Missions like DART are essential to help us understand how to stop dangerous asteroids.

The Planetary Society works to improve asteroid detection and reconnaissance, mature deflection technologies, and develop global response strategies.

What is DART?

What should we do if we find a dangerous asteroid on course to hit Earth? There are a number of possible deflection techniques, ranging from extreme (a nuclear blast) to benign (a heavy spacecraft uses gravity to nudge the asteroid off-course).

Somewhere in between is the kinetic impactor technique. The concept is simple: Slam one or more spacecraft into the asteroid at high speed to change its orbit and move Earth out of the crosshairs. This technique works particularly well if used far in advance, since small nudges can add up to big changes later on.

DART, NASA's Double Asteroid Redirection Test, is the first space mission to test this or any other asteroid deflection technique. DART launches between November 2021 and February 2022 and will arrive at near-Earth asteroid Didymos in September 2022. The spacecraft won't slow down, intentionally crashing into the asteroid's small moon Dimorphos. The crash should change the time it takes Dimorphos to orbit Didymos, proving the kinetic impactor technique works.

Didymos and Dimorphos are particularly well-suited targets for DART. Although they are relatively small—Didymos measures just 780 meters (a half-mile) across and Dimorphos measures only 160 meters (525 feet) across—they pass in front of each other as seen from Earth. Optical ground-based telescopes see them as a single point of light that fluctuates in brightness as Dimorphos circles Didymos; the interval of those fluctuations will change after DART's impact. Additionally, Didymos and Dimorphos do not come close enough to Earth for DART to inadvertently send them hurtling towards our planet.

We Might Be Able to Deflect an Asteroid by Sacrificing Satellites

Less than 50%

Some days, it feels like humanity is doing everything it can to hasten the end of the world, from creating weapons that can turn Earth into a nuclear hellscape to pumping formerly sequestered carbon into the atmosphere at ever-increasing rates. Still, these are things we as a species could stop doing if we wanted. We can’t just decide not to get wiped out by an asteroid. Stopping a big space rock from colliding with Earth would be a tall order with our current level of technology, but scientists now believe telecom satellites could help avert doomsday if an asteroid has Earth in its sights.

Ideally, astronomers would see an asteroid collision coming many years in advance, giving us time to develop a strategy for deflecting it. What happens if there isn’t much time, though? Assuming Bruce Willis is unavailable, a few big satellites might do. A team of scientists from Airbus has developed a mission concept for the European Space Agency (ESA) called Fast Kinetic Deflection (FastKD). The gist is that we run a few big telecom satellites into the approaching space rock, and hopefully, that knocks it off course.

The FastKD study used a 1,000-foot asteroid as an example. An object of this size would cause widespread destruction if it collided with Earth, but it’s still small enough that we might be able to nudge it out of the way. Large telecom satellites usually sit in high geostationary orbits. With a boost in the right direction, such a satellite could be placed on a collision course with an approaching asteroid where its four-to-six-ton bulk could help push it clear of Earth. The study estimates that it would take ten such collisions to deflect the theoretical 1,000-foot impactor.

Deflecting asteroids to save earth
How we’re gearing up to deflect asteroids that might cause Earth considerable damage.

Less than 50%

Asteroids — the bits and pieces left over from the formation of the inner planets — are a source of great curiosity for those keen to learn about the building blocks of our solar system, and to probe the chemistry of life.

Humans are also considering mining asteroids for metals, but one of the crucial reasons scientists study this ancient space rubble is planetary defence, given the potential for space debris to cause Earth harm.

Accordingly, NASA is planning a 2022 planetary defence mission that involves sending a spacecraft to crash into a near-Earth asteroid in an effort to check whether it could be deflected were it on a collision course with Earth.

Dr Naomi Murdoch — a planetary scientist at the French aeronautics and space institute ISAE-SUPAERO, who specialises in the geophysical evolution of asteroids — is part of a follow-on mission planned by the European Space Agency. She tells Horizon about the mission will characterise the asteroid after impact to obtain data that will inform strategies designed to address any threatening asteroids that might come Earth’s way.

But are we in any real danger of being wiped out by a big rocky remnant? Not really, but some asteroids can cause considerable damage, which is why we’re shoring up our defences here on Earth, she suggests.
