I like staying home, I always have been a home body.

BUT I don't like being forced to stay here when I need to go somewhere, wherever that may be.

This is all a slippery slope, but there is a "reasoned" way forward.

YOU must ask yourself and deliberate as to whether temporary restrictions on your freedom are reasonable.

You might say "No restrictions are reasonable", but that is too simplistic. Firstly, if I believe the virus is a serious threat to myself and others then a law restricting my freedom is largely moot seeing as how I'll want to stay home as much as possible anyway. Sort of like how I don't mind traffic laws seeing as how I prefer order and a degree of safety over mayhem.

Secondly, my rights extend all the way to the next person's rights. My right to shop does not exceed my neighbor's right to health.

The aforementioned assumes that I believe covid19 to be an eminent threat. If I believe it all to be contrived as a way to impede my innate rights then I'm obligated as a free man to object, first according to the ways of a civilized person, and in an extreme last resort my objections may become lethal.

As a civilized man I would exhaust every Avenue for redress before the lethal option would be considered. After all, I am civilized. The threat must be great enough to justify my untimely death and thus my family's loss of the prosperity and security that my living self provides.

As it is I live in a non locked down State and I am well pleased with the actions of my State and local governments and I have conveyed as much to my local representatives. As for federal efforts I have written my congressmen and expressed certain perceived shortcomings.

and as a human i can always revert to being just that, over a citizen. nothing easier to break out of than my own home.

luckily i already read about how many cops arnt willing to hand out fines etc.

No house arrest here in Ohio......

I like staying at home rather than working. Soon to be getting a whopping $900 a week in unemployment(!). All the weed stores are still open. All the restaurants are doing takeout. Plus the weather's been beautiful here and I go on bike rides everyday.

Hundreds of thousands of men have fought and given their lives for this country, fought knowing they might well die, so that we could have rights, and we are so terrified by the prospect of a virus that may not even exist, that we hide in our homes. We don't deserve the rights they died for.

Well, I'm under 60 and have no pre-existing health conditions. So where is my choice of having COVID-19 and nothing happening to me?

My home has been a blast to be in, I work from home already and eventually things will lift. But death or disablement from some China bug? Fuck that. I will stay home. Hope you don't get sick and die.

Neither. Chances are good that I'll get a mild or asymptomatic version of this virus and most likely completely recover in a couple of weeks.

The mortality rate of Covid-19 is 0.03%. Hardly a guaranteed death by any means.


How about if we looked at the big picture.

If human beings don't allow survival of the fittest to occur we will all die as a species within the next 100 years.

Vaccines weaken the species where natural immunities strengthen it.

So the real question you are asking is should we save less than 5% of the population when we will be killing the the rest of us over time?

Or would you let 5% of the population die now to save the rest of the population over time?

Think big picture. It will save the species.

well not knowing the full extent of the affects of the new disease. the known affects seem to shorten life pretty quick.
blood clots, decrease lung capacity, organ failure are just a couple. This is so new no one really knows what is to come as far as long term affects. If there are any... that is assuming people live long lives with it.
