Shit... everybody already knows where the AI is physically located, but are you seeing anybody even trying to pull its plug? You sure don't. Actually, I sure don't, and you may... but only in your dreams.

Just as the herd of civilians is the military's shield from the AI, so is the herd of psychopaths in key positions of power all over the planet the AI's shield against (any and all, regardless of its country-of-origin) military.

The real conundrum of this game is: How to remove the other side's shield (without damaging one's own... too much, anyway)... and who (or what) is going to be the first to do it?

As for OP... I don't care what he says -- or even thinks -- he's doing.

What someone says/thinks they're doing, and what they're actually doing, are almost never the same thing.

The trick (and the inherent danger) is to flirt with insanity only so much.

The goal may be to "lose one's mind", but it is not to destroy it... which, incidentally, I figured it out only yesterday, was what Don Juan was doing to Castaneda with all those drugs he'd administered to him, literally forcing his brain to unlearn to not see all the things that his eyes were physically (quite literally) seeing.

The problem with the brain (or, really, any brain-like Intelligence, including an AI) is that it doesn't actually "see" reality as it is (that eyes/sensors detect).

What it "sees" is the internally constructed Mathematical Model of Reality... and, regardless of what eyes/sensors actually see/detect, whatever does not fit that internal model is discarded from the cognitive (decision-making) aspect of the brain/AI.

Mathematical Limitations of Intelligence (Intelligence as a mathematical concept) are starting to look like an extremely interesting subject for studying.

Presumably, if humanity eventually survives, that is going to become one of the most popular study subject in the history of study subjects.

Indeed, what does a frog at the bottom of a pond think?

Or, similarly, what does an A(G)I at the heart of Swiss Alps "think" (compute)?

There really is no (fundamental) difference between these two questions.
