The Expanse Not a movie but a series. Starts in ho-hum territory but really shifts gear and picks up pace in the second season. Great stuff with some real spine tingling moments. 2. Battle Angel Alita Formula sci-fi done right with high production vales. 3. 3022 It's sci-fi, it's there and it's not too bad. 4. Underwater Popcorn flick. 5. Upgrade Saw it a couple of years back. Says I liked it on my IMDB list. 6. Passengers Good one for watching with the woman. A well rounded story that isn't begging for a sequel, which is nice these days. 7. Edge of Tomorrow This movie is fun to put on and jack the sound on. A roller coaster ride of a movie with some replay value. Recommended but probably already viewed. If not, line it up. 8. Life A solid sci-fi recent entry that got harsher reviews than it deserved. Quite good. 9. Starship Troopers A now classic presentation of the source material. Fun and satirical. 10. Aliens Probably my favourite Sci-fi film. Had to chuck it in here. The tension that builds in this one is great. ------------------ There's ten random flicks. There are many more that could be mentioned back through the years. Sci-fi has been a bit lacking of recent though. Not a lot to choose from nowadays. Your best bet out of this lot would be The Expanse. |

The Kingsman, while more action than sci-fi, has a relevant plot line to todays 5g tards. Bubba Ho-Tep: more mythical than sci-fi but fun with a GLP friendly plot. Some random pop culture types are only coming to mind such as: Flatliners Lawnmower Man Star Trek - first of the new ones. Has pretty solid time travel logic. If you like B-movie sci-fi comedies, check out "It came from somewhere else". |

Series are dangerous, it sucks getting hooked on something when you're 5 seasons behind! I'll give it a shot at some point for sure |

Nice! Alita was awesome, kind of had a similar vibe too Ready Player One which was cool too. Obviously Event Horizon has been watched? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76392954 The Kingsman, while more action than sci-fi, has a relevant plot line to todays 5g tards. Bubba Ho-Tep: more mythical than sci-fi but fun with a GLP friendly plot. Event Horizon's a classic, Kingsman was good but I couldn't get through the sequel... didn't really live up to the first one. |
