Swapped the lumber rack from my 97 Dodge Ram onto my 2017 Ram.

Changed out the master cylinder on my 69 Charger and while attempting to bleed the brakes, snapped off the bleeder nipple. Now I have to tear the right front drum brakes apart to replace the wheel cylinder.....

Today started with pruning back my pitcher plants (nepenthes ventricosa), then built a new rack to hold all my venus flytrap planters. Right before lunch, I got back to re roofing my brothers house, rain has finally abated for a few days so I'm finishing the second half. Found some rotten decking which required the use of the ol' Goat (my Ram) to get decking and some drip edge to replace the sticks that were too buggered up to reuse.

How many miles you got on your 97 Ram? Mine is at 115K miles on the original drivetrain, it sat abandoned in a cow pasture for a decade before it was given to me. Took a good bit of work to get it running again and I'm about to have to rebuild the front end (ball joints, tie rods, king arm, grease boots, and steering box). Oldie but a goodie. Just two weeks ago I hauled all 82 bundles of shingles for doing my brothers roof in one trip. Over 2 tons in a 1500 series, WAAAY overloaded but the ol' Goat made the 15 mile haul and barely heated up.

Found a free 1/2 hr daily guided breathing & relaxation session on Zoom. Also a few Meetups per week on Zoom where we discuss a different interesting, intellectual topic.

Planning on hearing an Andrew Lloyd Webber Broadway production on YouTube Fri - Sun.

Found a delicious use for kale stems, easy roasted Greek-style lemon chicken with veggies.

Flash seal, vent tubes on someones chimney. Second job was demolish a crown to the chimney 35 feet up set up hook ladders built a frame to replace said crown out of 2x4s pressure treated wood 30"x64"3/4ths then used hardy-backer or cement board 1/4 think. cut it to fit then placed it inside the chase cover to trace the squares to cut out. had to keep the furnace liner tied to a pulling cone so it wouldn't drop down into the 35 foot prefab.

All I can say if you take short cuts on jobs it comes back to you.

It's wine o'clock. I homeschooled today, my children alternated between playing and arguing, discovered my teen made my younger daughter an account on a social media profile she doesn't need, broke more garden ground with a pickaxe, let the chickens out of the run, chased them out of the established garden for the next many hours....Then I sat in the yard and literally cried because (of anger) the world has gone to shit, and I'm the only one in my family who seems to care if we eat this fall.

So I'm going to spend the rest of the evening refreshing glp, and drinking, and hoping you guys post some profound stuff.

I'm a single flight attendant. I got paid $5K this month for doing absolutely nothing. All my trips canceled and I got paid for every one of them. I bought a treadmill 2 weeks ago and have since clocked 80 miles on it from running. I made BBQ turkey meatloaf for dinner with wasabi grits. I'm toggling between Tucker Carlson right now, then All In The Family when the commercials appear. I love Archie Bunker. Love Tucker even more, dude really butters the bread with his anti-establishment jam....love it.

wired these steps for lights for a client's house. I installed the lights today after the steps were poured. While I was working I paid some Mexicans to detail my truck.. I noticed they're ALL working, every day, none are sick, none wear masks. none know anyone that is sick. I think they KNOW this is horseshit.

My brothers roof was destroyed by a hail storm a couple years ago, his dad (my loser step-dad) took the insurance money and did a less-than-half-ass patch job. Whole roof needed to be redone, my brothers dad bought and used 3 bundles of shingles to fill in a few sections where the shingles were missing completely, didnt even do that part right, pocketed over 8 grand.
My lil bro has been facing a lawsuit from the insurance company over this, I'm in the middle of saving his ass. He and I dumped $1600 for material and I've been busting my ass in between rain fronts doing the labor (my lil bro is terrified of heights).
My step-dad was a total dick when I was growing up, when I finish the roof I'm contacting an attorney and my bro's insurance company about filing charges against the asshole for insurance fraud.

Ugh, yes, I didn't let them out last year (our first year here) but it's so bare in the run other than the straw, and our yard was seeded with weeds. So I figured it would cut down on feed and yardwork if I let them out. But we are out of wire, so I have to chase them out of two garden areas. Hopefully we can get some tomorrow. Incidentally, I figured out how awesome it is to try to eat a sandwich outside with chickens running around, lol.

Went to my local grocery store just after noon and was pleased to see that with the exception of some particular household cleaning products there are no shortages of anything and the restriction of max two of each item per customer has been dropped. Only one customer in the place, an old guy, was even wearing a face mask and the mood in the place was distinctly good, you can tell people are putting their concerns behind them. Yuck! Sometimes, that's just how the ball rolls though.
One thing for sure though--- on the 2nd gen Ram, NEVER do any work that requires taking apart the dash unless you ABSOLUTELY have to. That is... if you still HAVE a dash. I've kept mine intact by filling in cracks with JB Weld as they happen. The dash cupholder has gave up the ghost as well as the "overdrive off" switch next to the AC controls.
Believe it or not... the dash mounted O/D button is EXTREMELY rare, can't even find info on it on ALLDATA. I've hit up every damn junkyard in the DFW area looking for one and have yet to find a replacement.

Interesting... a little. Committed a crime against the family.

My parents have been out of town for the last month. My daughter was supposed to water my mother's potted plants. She was supposed to get $1.00 per pot every week. But, we kept forgetting to go over and do it.

Yesterday they called and said they would be back Sunday. So, we ran over to their house to water the plants. Many were dead and many wilted. So, we made a quick trip to Lowes Garden Center.

Thank goodness they had a bunch of plants on sale and on clearance freshly put out. We picked out the best ones all between $1.00 and $3.00.

So, $30.00 later we returned to the scene of the crime and repotted a bunch of plants that look similar to what my mother had on her porch. My daughter watered each and every one of them well. I threw the evidence of the crime away back home in my own trach can.

Do you think we will be caught?
Should I let my daughter charge the weekly rate per pot?

What do you think I should say if we do get caught? tomato

All of this sounds amazing. I'll have to learn how to do it. I was wondering yesterday how people made pectin before they could go to the store and buy it.

On a side note, this is my first pin, and I apologise but I'm not sure how to police threads.

Totaled is a matter of perspective. I had an 81 Celica that was "totaled" due to a crease down the drivers side that cracked the front and rear turn signal housings. Didn't affect drivability nor ability of opening the door. Bought the car initially for $400, got $1k from I insurance, bought it back for $350. Bought new turn signal housings at a pick & pull for under $50.
I made money on that car.
