Found some rotten decking which required the use of the ol' Goat (my Ram) to get decking and some drip edge to replace the sticks that were too buggered up to reuse. How many miles you got on your 97 Ram? Mine is at 115K miles on the original drivetrain, it sat abandoned in a cow pasture for a decade before it was given to me. Took a good bit of work to get it running again and I'm about to have to rebuild the front end (ball joints, tie rods, king arm, grease boots, and steering box). Oldie but a goodie. Just two weeks ago I hauled all 82 bundles of shingles for doing my brothers roof in one trip. My brothers roof was destroyed by a hail storm a couple years ago, his dad (my loser step-dad) took the insurance money and did a less-than-half-ass patch job. Whole roof needed to be redone, my brothers dad bought and used 3 bundles of shingles to fill in a few sections where the shingles were missing completely, didnt even do that part right, pocketed over 8 grand. My lil bro has been facing a lawsuit from the insurance company over this, I'm in the middle of saving his ass. He and I dumped $1600 for material and I've been busting my ass in between rain fronts doing the labor (my lil bro is terrified of heights). My step-dad was a total dick when I was growing up, when I finish the roof I'm contacting an attorney and my bro's insurance company about filing charges against the asshole for insurance fraud. Ugh, yes, I didn't let them out last year (our first year here) but it's so bare in the run other than the straw, and our yard was seeded with weeds. So I figured it would cut down on feed and yardwork if I let them out. But we are out of wire, so I have to chase them out of two garden areas. Hopefully we can get some tomorrow. Sometimes, that's just how the ball rolls though. One thing for sure though--- on the 2nd gen Ram, NEVER do any work that requires taking apart the dash unless you ABSOLUTELY have to. That is... if you still HAVE a dash. I've kept mine intact by filling in cracks with JB Weld as they happen. The dash cupholder has gave up the ghost as well as the "overdrive off" switch next to the AC controls. Believe it or not... the dash mounted O/D button is EXTREMELY rare, can't even find info on it on ALLDATA. I've hit up every damn junkyard in the DFW area looking for one and have yet to find a replacement. "Tempus Fugit" |

User ID: 71860689 United States 04/23/2020 08:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Interesting... a little. Committed a crime against the family. My parents have been out of town for the last month. My daughter was supposed to water my mother's potted plants. She was supposed to get $1.00 per pot every week. But, we kept forgetting to go over and do it. Yesterday they called and said they would be back Sunday. So, we ran over to their house to water the plants. Many were dead and many wilted. So, we made a quick trip to Lowes Garden Center. Thank goodness they had a bunch of plants on sale and on clearance freshly put out. We picked out the best ones all between $1.00 and $3.00. So, $30.00 later we returned to the scene of the crime and repotted a bunch of plants that look similar to what my mother had on her porch. My daughter watered each and every one of them well. I threw the evidence of the crime away back home in my own trach can. Do you think we will be caught? Should I let my daughter charge the weekly rate per pot? What do you think I should say if we do get caught? " Mom, I was at Lowes and I picked up several just for you, because I know how much you like flowers. Happy Birthday." LOL. |
