CLUSIVE: Source Says FBI Director Christopher Wray Pushed To Withhold Exculpatory Evidence In Mike Flynn Case

Federal Bureau of Investigations Director Christopher Wray fought to prevent exculpatory evidence from surfacing in the case of President Donald Trump’s former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, a source with direct knowledge of the situation tells Daily Caller.

New court documents were filed in Flynn’s case Friday containing the aforementioned exculpatory evidence, commonly referred to as Brady Material. Flynn’s attorney, Sidney Powell, announced the new filing on Twitter. She has repeatedly accused the FBI and Justice Department of hiding evidence in the case.

Report: FBI Director Wray Behind Suppression of ‘Stunning’ Exculpatory Evidence in Flynn Case

According to the FBI official who spoke to The Federalist, FBI general counsel Dana Boente led the charge internally against DOJ’s disclosure of the new materials. Boente, who briefly served as acting Attorney General after Trump became president, personally signed off on one of the federal spy warrants against former Trump campaign affiliate Carter Page. The new documents, which were filed under a protective order by DOJ on Friday, will reflect poorly on the FBI, the official told The Federalist. It is not clear when, or even if, those documents will be unsealed and made available to the public for review.

The Connecticut federal prosecutor is reportedly looking into a Jan. 12, 2017 article in the Washington Post by columnist David Ignatius, which said Flynn “cultivates close Russian contacts” and cited a “senior U.S. government official” who revealed Flynn had talked to now-former Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak on Dec. 29, 2016, which was the same day President Barack Obama expelled 35 Russian officials. It is likely that this revelation, and subsequent leaks about the alleged contents of Flynn’s discussions with Kislyak, were based on classified information. Ignatius also raised the possibility that Flynn had violated the Logan Act, a rarely enforced law, which former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates and other Obama DOJ holdovers at least considered using against Flynn. Ignatius said he wanted answers on those issues about Flynn to avoid a “Shakespearean tragic ending” for Trump’s presidency.

The New York Times report said it is not known whether Durham has taken over a preexisting media leaks investigation or his is separate. It is also not known whether Durham is scrutinizing any other leaks.

A follow-up article by the Washington Post on Feb, 9, 2017, revealed likely-classified details from Flynn’s monitored calls with Kislyak, citing “nine current and former officials” who were in “senior positions at multiple agencies at the time of the calls” and who “spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence matters.”

Attorney General Jeff Sessions confirmed on Fox News in 2018 that he believed these “leaks of classified documents” were “a violation of the law.” Sessions said the Justice Department was “pursuing it aggressively.”

I’m kinda confused. Was this plea done by Flynn’s previous lawyers? (Covington Law - which is Eric Holder’s firm).

i mean the feds were stupid enough to email the attorneys about limiting certain disclosures so as to avoid sensitive disclosures and reporting requirements related to the plea.

I remember reading something from a couple weeks back as well about how eric holder's firm covington and burling (the same firm that originally represented Flynn) had miraculously found all these files related to Flynns plea and turned them over to the DOJ begrudgingly.

I think this also occurred around the most recent eric holder JFK/Trump threat made via twitter.

US Attorney Jeff Jensen out of Eastern District of Missouri has been conducting a review of Flynns case. In said review, he has discovered (and now turned over to Flynn's attorney Sidney Powell) a ton of new evidence that proves the lead prosecutor Van Grack engaged in a range of illegal activity related to securing flynns plea. The emails recovered (from flynn's original attorneys, given to his current attorney) prove this, and also show how the feds and the covington and burlington lawyers were COLLUDING to secure a conviction by any means necessary and of course, to shield this from the court.

Is Jensen disclosing this or is Ric Grennel declassifying?

Sounds like Wray is on his way out. Boente should be. The #2 at fbi is
Alan E. Kohler, Jr. Wray chose him so can only assume he needs to go.

Jensen discloses these findings to Powell, Flynn’s current council as part of the review. Powell turned around and pumped that into the federal court system today.

Agreed with regard to Wray. All continues to point to the reality that Barr is systematically and very methodically forcing players out, and forcing disclosure thru the courts.

Don’t forget, Powell sent Barr a letter the week of his confirmation asking him to review (and eventually dismiss Flynn’s case). Powell’s letter was declassified as part of the original motion.
