Forcing creatures to fight for their own entertainment is appalling and I cannot believe it's rated for child Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78843101 ren. I can also not believe it has been going on for years, causing evil to spread. Yesterday, my son asked what I was fearing. He asked for a Fortnite membership, I was shocked, because I knew my sister let her sons play that dreadful game, and my sister is dim and does not follow in Gods footsteps. I told him no and immediately sent him to his room. I then phoned my pastor and he recommended steering my son away from that awful game. My son is 11 years old and he has become very cold with me ever since I said no. He called me insane, which is a reflect of what the game can do to a child. I will not allow any kind of things in my house that are in any way offending God. I threw away all my sons Harry Potter books and forbidden him from watching the movies. I am a good mother, and any parent who lets their kids play Fortnite, will grow up with a power obsessed, violent child worshiping Satan. Evolution is also in the game, which is against Gods words. it is disgraceful and should be banned. My son has insulted me ever since this has happened. He told me his friends play Fortnite so I have told him he is not allowed near them again. It is causing a drift between our family. I have told my son various times that he will go to Hell if he plays Fortnite but the message is not sinking in. I fear Satan is taking him from me You are telling your child that he will go to hell for playing a video game with his friends? |

You aren’t saying no but you’re not enabling. Chances are he will find better things to spend his money on eventually. Win-win. He gets what he wants short term and you get what you want long term. |

Fortnite is the same thing, but animated. In chess, one opponent seeks to take out the other opponents army. Same is true for Fortnite. Even the Olympics pit other people against one another in the same way. |

Get your child a bible and study it with him/her as part of your agreement. In the end, you can't choose for your kid how they will live their life and how much stock they place in the things they participate in. You can only influence them. You have that control. Use it. *edit. I play Fortnite, I am aware of the issue you present. I also read my bible, and know that Fortnite will never overshadow my Faith in Jesus. I am able to separate reality from imagination on those two points. Children need guidance to be able to tell right from wrong. Murder is wrong. Harming other people is wrong. Separation of fact from fiction is important. As long as your child is able to do that, then your worry is unsubstantiated. If your child is becoming hostile, then perhaps they lack the moral wisdom to see this. I think you are right to have reservations if such is true. You have the ability to instill within him those differences, on how he applies what you teach him in real life. |

I fear Satan is taking him from me raised my son alone after divorce in the Word home-schooled healthy food great life full of beach/walks under the stars/symphonies etc he just graduated top of his college class. he has one addiction: video games. If I made one mistake, it was buying his first console. Buying so many video games. The battle to keep him in age appropriate games as he grew was hell for me. my only criticism is that you told him he would go to hell. the Word says: 'judge not' I believe we can set rules in the home as parents of a minor child and still 'judge not' show him the LOVE of Christ in your words and behavior. yes, this is scary for you, I know. but work to do that perfect LOVE casts out fear. Prophecy a future blessing over him. I battled the battle you are going thru very alone. No one was there for me but God's grace. I understand how alone you feel. Just reach out for His grace and mercy in your words and actions and set boundaries. You have a right to choose what's in your home. What's hard for you is the lack of support a single mom in our world gets.James 1:27 But, fight with the Word and I will be praying for you. If I could change one thing about how I raised my son, it would be video games. There is an entrainment in them that causes great hostility toward the parent. |
