But anyways, in the same aisle as paper stuff there were these cool bins, well I decided I wanted more, but noticed that whole area of bins and stuff shrunk at one store, so went to another, and was way shrunk into just a small little area. So, my thinking is either they're having hard time getting all these bins and stuff in OR, they're trying to clear out this aisle for some reason. Again, this is not a hoarding issue, and they are not restocking these. |

I've had premonitions from God about this happening for years. Time to be prepared for lack and scarcity of all the essentials. Last Edited by telling it straight on 04/26/2020 11:16 AM |

Quoting: telling it straight Yes, I agree, I've seen things in dreams and stuff too, that seemed to hint to this. A while back I had a dream where I was working and everything ground to a halt and no one was working, but very few, so at the time I thought it was a lay-off, but then I felt it had so much more meaning, as it seemed like everything had stopped. Then more recently I had dream I was in Nebraska in an art store and everything shut down, and there was people running out of store then HUGE earthquake and I ended up on a plane that was safe, I could see the earth rolling and people freaking out from plane. I know they say earthquake can signify financial upset. |

Paper isle once bare now stocked with large packs of restaurant style napkins in place of TP and paper towels. Brawny, over priced, a dozen packs of 6 perpetually available. Cheese is stocked thin. Meat is WAY expensive. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 51752123 United States 04/26/2020 12:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Today at Publix I noticed once again the seafood, fine steak counter totally empty, THIS TIME, there is a note that says: Quoting: Keilani "Due to availability of product we have closed this servce case until further notice." So, my friends, this is not a "hoarding" issue, these are high ticket items that they cannot get. What's really odd about this is with ALL the restaurants here that case should be awash in seafood and steak! Before a grocery store or supermarket chain can obtain product from a vendor, arrangements have to be worked out - logistical, legal and economic. The food service industry has plenty of food available, but it takes time to get all the i’s dotted and t’s crossed before product can be transferred from them to the store’s warehouses, thence to the store. For example, there are plenty of frozen vegetables available as restaurant supply, but they’re in 10 and 25 lb. food service packages. They aren’t in retail packages, with all the required information, such as “nutrition facts”, that are required for legal retail sale. You can thank government regulations and lawyers, primarily, for the delay. |

Yup...she mentioned that too (closing of the meat packing plants). That's why china is able to buy the meat...they are buying the whole cow & process it in china. If I am going to be damned...I am going to be damned for who I really am! |

User ID: 77013656 United States 04/26/2020 12:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I noticed the store limited entrance and exit routes. Blocked off to one way entrance/exit. Concrete traffic barriers out in parking lot. Unused at the moment but they have them ready. They are preparing for something coming. A shortage I think. Supplies were sort of rationed since China fell. The real shortages will be coming where a LOT of stuff simply wont be available. What would people do if we ran out of soap. All types.... dish soap, bar soap, detergent, People would then converge on the remaining sanitation items left. What ever it is. Military guarding grocery stores. Rationing enforced. It can happen and I think it's coming. |

Brawny, over priced, a dozen packs of 6 perpetually available. Cheese is stocked thin. Meat is WAY expensive. What state are you in? I'm in Florida, and meat has been pretty steady lately, but like I said the service counter is now permanently close, which was higher end meat and seafood, and said "due to supply", so wow, like now they're admitting a supply issue. They can no longer blame on hoarding, as there are limits, etc. I am also noticing "restaurant" style/type items. I know the CEO of Sysco (restaurant food supplier), said he would start supplying stores, so what I noticed were meat items that I'm pretty sure are restuarant size/style. Maybe that's why our meat is still stocked. Also coming to my mind, being in Florida, all these restuarants were shut down to cover up for a food shortage, they can divert that food to grocery stories, and blame it all on COVID> |

This is probably a much better solution. These big plants seem dirty and use illegals and all sorts of things, maybe a smaller business can do a better job. |

(OP) User ID: 77232079 United States 04/26/2020 12:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Picked up 4 NY strip steaks for $32 yesterday. Lots of good cuts available in my area. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77391763 Yes, we have some in the main meat area, and actually prices have been really good, my concern is looking ahead, the fact that the meat service counter is permanently closed, and they SAY it's a supply issues is huge, even though yes, I can still get steak in the main meat area. Once again, I see this is another ploy to look like they have more than they do. They're spreading it all out in the meat area, along with the "restaurant" style meat, and yes, now looks very full. BUT what would meat area look like without the service area being closed and the added "Sysco" meats. Also, concerning is all this talk of meat processors shutting down, I think they closed the "cased" meat counter to make it look fuller in non-cased meats. LIving in Florida, I did check out Marine Tracker to see if fishing boats were out, and they were. So, I'm thinking they're getting pass on it. However, I know a lot of small local fishermen would probably rather get the increased unemployment for a few months than go out and work, LOL. |

No more normal consumer bottles of bleach available. I believe paper products were first to run low. Due to size versus profit. The amount of storage space used cost more so less is stocked and replenished twice as often. |
