User ID: 78769062 United States 04/26/2020 09:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Today at Publix I noticed once again the seafood, fine steak counter totally empty, THIS TIME, there is a note that says: Quoting: Keilani "Due to availability of product we have closed this servce case until further notice." So, my friends, this is not a "hoarding" issue, these are high ticket items that they cannot get. What's really odd about this is with ALL the restaurants here that case should be awash in seafood and steak! There's no shortages in stores in this region except for big brand name flour. Everything is stocked. "everything is stocked". That is the illusion. Yes, everything is full now....but there is nothing coming behind that. All the food is being slaughtered burned and buried. There is nothing but tears coming behind this. and this is not a drill. this is for real. Venezuela was the beta test. |

Yah, that's my point, everything looks stocked now, but there are many subtle signs that things are not right, like just the fact we have to have "corrals", certain things are still not stocked like paper items, where there's smoke there's fire, don't forget. |

No one wants to say it out loud but it's because (around here anyway) it is nearly fully staffed with illegal immigrants. They buy ss #s to work under but it's not a secret they're not legal. Plus, listen to what these jerks were doing. They had people coming into work with fevers, and slapped a mask on them and sent them back out onto the line. I don't know whether they don't know about the social distancing stuff because of a language barrier or if they just flat won't do it, but they do not follow the rules (shocker, I know considering if they valued such things they wouldn't be here to begin with). So now, my rural barely populated county has one of the highest rates of infection because of 2 meat plants and their sketchy hiring practices. Edit to add: The employees had no choice, they can't just go get a job anywhere so they are desperate to keep this job. These plants are very strict and will fire them immediately if they don't do as they're told. Yeah, I've heard about all the illegals at the plants, but then again, how do we know that someone didn't plant COVID in the plant OR, how serious are the cases, are you getting any word on that? I mean this is like war, they're attacking our food supply. Remember all the evidence of Chinese coming through our southern borders? Remember the shipments of sick birds that came in from China???? We will be starting to grow micro greens (a pound of pea shoots in 8 days) and other plants indoors under grow lights. Thinking about getting quail, easy to grow, six to eight weeks, quiet for city, and grow in small space indoors or out, plus they lay an egg a day. All this was started because everytime we get groceries the supply is shrinking! |

There are a lot of other moving parts of the US economy, many of them dependent on the existence of a huge supply line from China. With China already screwed up since January and now America in late April only one step ahead of them, this generation's version of the Great Depression of the 1930s-40s may be a good rival for most misery forced upon the American people. |

Our grocery is on pins and needles every week as far as meats. Sometimes we order 2 pallets and get 1/2 of one. Sometimes they just send out stuff. Not ordered. Distro’d out. We got 3 pallets of chicken wings on one order, not on sale, just sending what they can get a hold of. Instead of an order that was compromised of a variety of parts. Not good. Last week , not ordered, we got 20 cases of Prime Tenderloins( filet mignon) instead of the normal rumps, chucks , etc. So ... we’re getting meats and making do , but, things are waayyy off from the normal distro’d/ added out. Way off. For what it’s worth, fill your freezers , hell , buy an extra one. Get your fav meat while you can. "Be like water my friend”- Bruce Lee |

I didn't bother. I live smaller town beside this town. We have a local grocery store that is great for their meat selection and price. Always plentiy of any kind of steaks you want with pretty ribeyes often around 5.99 lb. Also, great prices on chicken and pork. Since all this started meat is not nearly as plentiful or cheap. I got T bones for 8.99 this week. Figured could be last time for awhile they are there. Sure people are starting to see things aren't going back to normal anytime soon and are stocking freezers. Their was only a few packs and a limit that you could only buy 2 packs. Paper aisle was almost fully stock after being out for awhile. LOL, manager was actually taking a picture of it. Their was still plenty of food but shortages on a lot stuff. Maybe, 50% of the can stuff you would normally see. Not too bad but had the feeling when some stuff gets bought out it want get replenished like it was for a long time if ever. |

There was a reason last year Trump backed the whole gmo food production. There is also a reason they keep pushing the man- made fake meat products. And it’s not just to be the “in” thing. Anonymous Coward User ID: 78845885 United States 04/26/2020 11:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Stores have gone Stasi around here. Foot traffic has now become directional with "DO NOT ENTER" signs in the aisle if you are going the wrong way. Public service announcements about hand washing and distancing. More masks than not even though not mandated here. Quoting: Irish eyes I was looking for Orajel. All out. Apparently many others have tooth pain and can't get to the dentist because of Dr Douchie. Going out anymore really brings me down and that just shouldn't be. What state? Yah, in FL have arrows and "corrals" too, but the corrals have been less enforced, down to where someone just stands there with a counter, I mean maybe they never hit their overload number, IDK. Another thing someone sits at the entrance logging something on either a pad or notebook. Customer count or mask count IDK. Could be both. Cameras of course everywhere. Very uncomfortable for a free spirit. Yes, they're counting how many people in and out, and only allowing certain capacity, like let's say it's 50%, and the store has capacity of 200, then after 100 people, you have to stand and wait at the "corral" until one leaves, one in, one out. Yes, it is rather creepy, I think I almost find the arrows creepier, messes with your brain, training it to go in certain directions, stressful, like if you get something in the end of that aisle, technically, you're supposed to walk through whole aisle before you can get out of it, like a maize. Then of course you have all the clowns, who block the whole aisle forever pondering what to buy, and so then you have to pass them anyways and of course are closer than six feet, so the whole thing is quite the joke/hoax, whatever. I think, I heard May 1st. all Walmarts will implement the arrows thing. |

So they were full there. Yet no almond, cashew, or soy milk ( Had a minor panic attack since I’m lactose intolerant). It was hard to see all the plant based mills gone because they are normally really full. Frozen was 90% depleted. Walmart, bacon was 97% depleted. Red meat 60% depleted. White meat 50% depleted. Trader Joe’s was fully stocked on everything. I think by them limiting customers and the long line to get in to begin with (which goes fast) has detoured a lot of customers. Plenty of almond milk there thank goodness. |

Chicken is already being killed and sent to the rendering plant. Pork is up next - probably in a week or two. Baby pigs are already being killed when born. Beef - hard to say. The changes over the last 5 decades to very centralized cutting plants rather than meat cutters at local level is the problem. We have a shortage of real meat cutters at local level. The cutters at local level would be lost if they faced a hanging beef quarter or a half hog. I worked 47 years as a meat cutter / trainer. If I had facilities to work and just a few guys willing to work I could handle quite a bit of what is going to be lost and at least get it to a food bank. ... Pork coming to market today was born roughly 6-8 months ago Beef - born roughly 14 - 28 months ago depending on what it has been fed. The meat is on the way regardless of whether or not plants are open. damn sad david |
