taste is connected to your sense of smell. Anytime I get a cold, my nose stops working. There's also that weird smell/taste you get with yellow snot when your fighting infection. Happens all the time.

Pretty much any run in the flu is miserable and can pose all manner of symptoms. Usually though, you assume you'll pull through in a week, and just ride it out. Seems to be the case with 99% of these supposed covid cases too.

What's the big deal? You were miserable for a week and you lived. Happens to pretty much everyone atleast once a year.

I think there is something a little more nefarious that is hapoening:

It is a little bit like the Herpes Simplex virus in that it stays dormant (ie: in immeasurable) amounts in various **tissues for a period of time and can 'reactivate' similar to a Herpes "flare up."

A "flare up" in this caae, however, could be as simple as a mild sunburn; once you are even remotely immunocompromised, all bets may be off. .

My daughter and wife had this. Used up all the sick time and PTO, fever burning 11 days, 9 days severe, bedlocked. Common cold my ass. Perfect health otherwise and no pre-existing conditions, knocked them on their asses. I quarantined myself for a month after like a freak. After seeing what they went through? Hell no thanks.

Thieve's oil in a diffuser, clear lungs from Trinity's recommendation here, they really felt better after that treatment. 24/7 with the oil diffuser and a humidifier. Labored breathing after day 5 was touch and go for awhile. They pulled through thankfully.

Wife came in contact at her job in the hospital early on from a patient with covid who broke quarantine from Indonesia using a loophole for hospital visits for therapy. Got people sick there.

Fuck the idiots here with no compassion, lost cause till they get it and suffer with it. Hope they aren't obese or have pre-existing conditions or any kind of problem breathing! Not going to be a good ride for them.

We are doing better. She's a day or two behind me, but still good.

On this round of the virus, we both experienced the strange symptom that affects your toes almost like athletes foot. You get red, swollen, itchy toes...basically and overactive immune response causing inflammation. I also lost some feeling and had abnormal tingling in my toes months ago with the "first wave" but this symptom wasn't associated with COVID-19 yet (I thought I was having blood sugar issues and becoming diabetic, but it was actually the coronavirus..)

You usually only see that issue with your toes in cold frostbite weather, much like I would experience it when I would have to go shovel snow at work for hours starting at 3:30-4:30 am...that shit would do a number on your feet and toes after 4-5 hours... With COVID-19, podiatrists are seeing abnornal, unseasonable outbreaks of what is essentially cold-weather foot disease...in the summer. That's insane.

With this virus, once it is in your blood it goes everywhere, and one place can be your lower extremities. This is also one of the reasons that clots are developing in younger-aged cases, especially those with mortality. (I had a coworker die from the virus precisely in this fashion.)

I swear I had this right at Christmas time. I went to my doc and got Tamiflu, so much of the symptoms were lessened. Still, I was nauseous (no vomiting) and had a bit of the runs, headach, felt a little worn down, for about three weeks....it came on with me being very short of breath for about five hours. Scared me. I'd never experienced anything like it before. I could work save for the first two days of Tamiflu - was restricted to home - which were days off anyway, Christmas Eve and day.

I just checked, and I can get myself an antibody test. All insurances cover the test, but it's only $119 for the test. As far as I can tell, if you're paying for it, then you don't need an order for it from the doc. They provide an independent doc to check it. Huhn.

Both my husband and I have had a headache all week. Not crushing, but aggravating. No fever, kinda tired, and in the morning I sneeze a lot; so I am ascribing it to allergies as mold has been really high. But he is coughing. A dry cough. Not constantly, but common. So he was thinking of getting an antibody test.

I just don't want to participate in any of the swabbing and DNA collection.

But perhaps we can make a call and see if there is a way to get an antibody test without going through the drama. So thank you, CG!

Also, don't place a ton of stock in the antibodies if you have them. A whole lot of things indicate that they only protect for a couple of weeks.

And Akashic, I know the toe thing too well. I have had frostbite several times, and that is a real pain in the butt. Uncomfortable and worrisome as well.

I've been considering doing a thread to have people who have had this weigh in with their symptoms and experiences as well as their recovery. I have a strong feeling that this virus can stay kicking around in your blood (at undetectable levels with "normal" testing) and then flare up like a Herpes outbreak when your immune system is compromised.

For me, I think what set it off again (after a couple days) was a minor sunburn. That allowed what was left of what I had more than 2 months ago to go haywire again and start a whole new round of symptoms just like last time...only the most critical phase was a couple days shorter. Though on this round I had more a more severe loss of taste and smell...

What are you doing to treat it?

We did ivermectin last night, and hubby is on HCQ. Been doing prophylaxis with artemisinin and C, zinc, and D for quite awhile.

In someone that's immune compromised, just a little exposure can lead to illness. Sounds like your immune system is flattened by this so stressing it a little lets the Covid go bonkers.

I have the e.r. 'ballsack' thread. Got diag./tested '+' the other day. Only symptom I have is total loss of taste an smell...out of nowhere! I hear I've got a more innocuous version.

Yeah, that is one of the most telling and strangest symptoms...luckiky it's pretty benign. Only one other family member had that symptom (other than me.)

My little sister is fighting the virus and my cousin has it. Cousin is in the hospital on ventilator. Little sister said she feels horrible and has been running high fever.

I got sick in Jan (before testing) the entire month...fatigue, nausea, fever, headache etc (flu neg) It was different symptoms than any other illness. Felt fine month Feb and relapsed in March ...more severe for month n half. This was beginning of testing and I didnt qualify.

You are not alone. Please disregard the hateful posters here, as I am going to. We had it back in early March, "recovered" a couple weeks later. Was fine for a few weeks then noticed the headaches were always there. Work, stress, computer screens, etc would exacerbate them and make it difficult to focus. We wake up everyday with a hangover feeling and a couple days ago I woke up feeling like it had flared up slightly, as you stated. I had chills, aches, and of course, the headaches. Luckily all but the headaches went away yesterday.

Had been following this damn virus since January, took all precautions I could and still got it. 2020 has been and continues to be a wild, wild ride. Praying you feel better and sending you good and healing vibes.
