Got Diagnosed With COVID-19... (Again???)
Went to the ER this morning since I was sick and missed an entire week of work last week.

Originally, I was hoping to go for an all-clear so that I could officially return to work this week, but got a positive diagnosis for COVID-19 and a two-week quarantine instead!

This wasn't that surprising to me, since I was quite ill, but didn't have coughing or breathing issues...just everything else for about a full week.

Luckily, for work (and being a Union member) I can still get paid while out...without needing sick time. Obviously, not the case for many that are taken out of work temporarily due to this virus.

UPDATE: 5/15

Since I've been called a "shill":

covid-19

UPDATE: 6/24

Well, this is slightly concerning...

I lost my sense of taste again, starting yesterday. This is exactly what happened when I first became sick, months ago....
 Quoting: AkashicRecord®

UPDATE: 6/26

So, I spent a few hours in the hospital today connected to an IV drip and had a whole panel of tests: blood, urine, nasal swab, chest x-ray, and an EKG + anti-nausea medication after a bout of being very ill; Thursday morning being the most horrible.

Diagnosis: suspected COVID-19 (again)
 Quoting: AkashicRecord®

Thread: Got Diagnosed With COVID-19... (Again???) (Page 7)

UPDATE: 7/13

Well, I'm back, but things are just ...weird.

UPDATE: 9/8 & 9/11

Just got off of a fucking IV again, with the previous being just a few days ago! My arms are going to start looking like ones of a heroin user... lol

But more seriously, I had to have 4 liters of fluid replenished in a span of 3 days.
DAMN

BUT it was NOT COVID-19 (this time.) Still, not fun at all.

Basically I had almost 10 days of this:

shitstream

...and that can be somewhat life-threatening...and very quickly. Some completely different virus ruined my entire week and holiday...

The ER was rather quiet, but they aren't letting people pile into waiting rooms at all. Everything is very methodical and coordinated. Many people wait in their cars and tons of work (like taking insurance information and demographics) is done via phone...even if waiting in a closed examination room, like I was.

It's Connecticut, and they didn't feel wasting a test on me that late on the game would have been worth anything.

I've been exposed to a number a people who had this virus, so it was just par for the course...and a bit of a ticking time bomb.

The doctor that saw me told me that 1/3rd of tests are turning up false negatives! We had a few severely ill family members here over the weeks, some are first responders, and every test was coming up (rather impossibly) negative...but it was also taking about 10 days for results, so that's no bueno!

I don't put much faith in the results of some of these tests right now. You have to go with symptoms first, tests secondary...

I dislike my union for a lot of reasons, but the coverage for the Rona is pretty nice. Less to worry about with the wife not working right now.

Oh, I'm going to be just fine as the worst was days ago. Now it's just about waiting out the quarantine period.

I wanted to briefly share my experiences with the non-believers, especially about the "empty ER rooms" stuff, and the fact that many don't know anyone infected (or dead) from COVID-19.

I had a young (age 30) co-worker recently die from this, and the father of a family friend also perished a few days ago, so it is not really a joke...

I think the numbers are absolutely skewed in the wrong direction. I think there are quite a bit who have been slapped with a "Grade-A" sticker when it really should have been a "4-F"...

One third of tests being a false negative is rather huge! Nobody is really talking about that one...

So they "diagnosed" you as positive without a test???? that's a good indicator in my book that they are cooking the numbers to appear worse than they are.

My wife's aunt and uncle had it.... Fully recovered now but we were over at their house the day before the uncle got really sick... He supposedly had a fever that day. For something so contagious it must be a miracle that None of us caught it, including our 3 children that were there with us.

Her aunt and uncle even have two adult children that are temporarily living with them and they never caught it either...

So far all the evidence closest to me makes it really hard to believe the official narrative on this virus

And don't forget about false positives particularly with the rapid results test. Everything is too new for them to have done the proper testing and trials.

Had a 90-something year old woman at my work test positive with absolutely no symptoms other than a temp of 101.0 They did a whole work-up. It was a nasty UTI causing the temp. After a couple of days of antibiotics her temp came down. I may ask the doctor to retest her.

No one really needs to cook any numbers here. We basically have potentially up to 1/3 of reported (negative) cases actually being underreported...meaning that they were truly positive cases. The numbers being reported are low on many fronts. That's both good and bad. At least most people are staying home and not letting the whole thing turn in Bergamo, USA everywhere...

So here's the thing about these tests and the false negatives...

A family friend died a few days ago. He had three tests: two negatives and a final positive. The last test was too late and he was already severely compromised.

It started with him already being in the hospital for a different reason; he was tested twice while admitted. He was discharged and had severe symptoms within about two days. At that point he was re-tested (this time, positive) and readmitted to the hospital where he died days later...

His first two tests were probably false negatives!
