When this thing originally began, we had no data, so we were instructed to shelter in place. We now have the data and its been extrapolated. The death rate for this virus in the United States, is roughly 150 to 175 deaths per million. You can obtain this data from any number of verifiable sources online, ranging from medical websites to the CDC itself. Also keep in mind that the 150-175 deaths/million figure is also naively assuming that its an accurate number since many have likely been incorrectly reported as COVID-19. In any case, let's just use what the CDC is claiming is accurate, which is the 150 to 175 per million. That equates to an approximate mortality rate of .015 to .0175 % chance of dying from the COVID-19. The mortality rate of seasonal influenza is roughly the exact same. Again, this is data from directly from the very Health experts that are demanding that you stay at home, not go to parks and wear a hazmat suit just to go to the grocery store.


Putting aside the legal and constitutional implications of locking down the country, we can simply look at the science of herd immunity and how it slows and eventually stops the virus. For example, China hit its peak death rate around Feb 4th. However, they had not issued a "shelter in place" order until around Feb 21. That's roughly 2 weeks after the peak of the virus for them, allowing significant herd immunity to have taken place within the community. Fast forward to today, and out of 1.3 billion people in China, there are now 5K reported deaths, the lowest per capita death rate by far in the world. If you don't trust China's data, even with a hypothetical 100K deaths, they would still have the lowest per capita death rate. Spain for example (which had a heavy lockdown), still had a death rate of 450 per million. I'm not trying to dismiss the gravity of any one death, I am merely saying that the positive effects and proof of herd immunity from a societal standpoint (and not locking down the country) are clear and overwhelming.


Hundreds of thousands of businesses are now destroyed and the economy is in the worst shape that it's likely ever been. Health issues will now drastically increase and overburden the system, due to people either not able to visit the doctor or they are simply fearful of going.


We need to open EVERY state. It's nearly criminal at this point not to.

You need to get a wider view of how infectious diseases need to be handled in a society, and. in particular. how the current SARS-CoV-2 virus is affecting the US from West Coast to East.

In a way, you're like the person who wants children's playgrounds to be enclosed in bubble wrap and for adults to be required to pay an extra tax on junk food. Or for a Big-Nanny mentality to affect climate change, vaccinations and whether people can use plastic or paper.

Life isn't risk-free, never has been, never will be.

Herd immunity is bullshit when you know nothing about a virus that was tinkered with in the lab.
You can't get herd immunity if it mutates. The larger the population that it has to spread through, the very real risk there is that it will mutate. That's just how viruses act.

The safer option is to prevent the spread, prevent mutation and work on a vaccine.

Not saying we can't go out and do our business, but precautions need to be taken. Masks and distance.
