Re: What Are Your Covid Milestones?
I don't have a covid milestone, but I did have a lifetime milestone. Something was hidden & left for me to find 3 decades ago by my father before he died. I found out about "it" without knowing what "it" was - only that it had to be recovered. With very sketchy details to go on, I went through hell & eventually found "it." Took many years.

Very zen journey.

Hmmm. Interesting question.

If you'd have asked me beforehand, I'd have said "Of course!" One of those philosophical lies we tell ourselves I suppose. But after the fact, yes! A real kind of yes. Without even the tiniest shred of doubt yes.

My father was a brilliant man but myself & my 2 brothers thought he was a bit eccentric due to stories about "it." We figured he was either a bit quirky or just pulling our legs a bit - "it" became a kind of inside joke. Then one day "it" becomes a reality & everyone else in the world except him are the quirky ones. If he instilled anything of value in me, it's curiosity & the need to prove things to myself.

Plus "it" came with a handwritten notebook he kept since he was a young man. I find myself using peculiar idioms & an occasional strange turn of the phrase in conversation, & then I find it written in his notebook never realizing how much of him lives on in me.

So yes, I most definately feel his presence all the time.

Re: What Are Your Covid Milestones?
That's really awesome XG! I had a similar experience with that...

Your ancestors give you gifts whether you want them or not.

I believe we are all "spiritual" beings. My spirit lives forever. My body will die but my spirit will walk on....my essence.....

The "I" that I am-lives in you my child. As in nature.

I'd like to see the best of me live on, and the worst die off! So, herein I record some of the BEST I remember of those who came before you...and me...the worst? Well, we live and grow...and forgive...and forget (hopefully).

Attempt, as you live life to do as little damage to the following generations as possible. WALK IN BEAUTY.
(this coming from the next generation from the one which brought us the atomic bomb, the 1st totally unnatural happening on this planet....so kids...if they/we didn't completely screw it up, live a day at a time and make it better.) Cause I've heard it was beautiful here on Terra Firma.

I found these pages in a book I've never even read, probably came from her house after she died. She wrote it in 1982 and with it are pictures of my grandparents and two generations of family members before them along with descriptions of their personalities.

I don't know why I'm sharing it...other than to hope that more people see a bigger picture of the world like a parent once did and wrote about it full of hope for her children...wanting us to learn from their lives as well as our own.

Silly or not...

Lost weight. Finally saw savings in my bank account. No longer wasting money on a work commute. Since I'm not gone 12+ hours per day, I have time to eat at home so I'm saving about 500 a week there. Learned game design and am planning to sell my game around November.

Life's good, not gonna lie.

Re: What Are Your Covid Milestones?
I've met a new person whom I like hanging around with and being family-less in the strict sense...it is fun finding a new sibling. Siblings are good. My beard has grown enough that I could probably get an acting role as an old wise idiot. MY businesses are all changing form, in a good way. I've realized how scrawny I have become in my quest for 'the world' and know how to fix it. Eating has become a delight really and I am writing.

I've 23 days to go before the mourning period for my ex-wife fades after 1 full year. I watch tug boats chug up and down the Fraser River and the trees are all in full bloom as are many flowers. Tomorrow it will be about (shit F...about 80F?) and I watch the sunrise and sunset everyday. And don't care about sleeping patterns, it has only added to my dream cycle anyhow.

The completely unknown to me cat who 5 weeks ago hissed at my every movement just sits and stares at me now and leaves me be. I get distress calls from people and ease them through their stuff. I get calls from people who just want to talk and be heard. I get calls from loves from afar, and get that certain melting feeling one can get from hearing simple words over cell towers.

I get the fact that even though I am not home, I schooled my family and friends long ago about prepping enough so that no one I know is is suffering and indeed in a great Christian outpouring, are helping those who...well...weren't so well prepared. But in the end, though I feel for all those people who live in fear still, I find that I am falling in LOve with Life again.

Great post!

Congratulations. It sounds like you're in a happy place - that's not an easy thing to achieve in this day and age. Lord knows I've been trying to get back there for quite some time..

I'm glad you're doing good.

For some reason, while reading your second paragraph I thought of Bukowski.

That's a beautiful thing.

Heh. It's kind of complicated & hard to answer without using riddles. It started out physical & ended spiritual. It's one of the weirder things I've done in this life (& I'm a pretty weird guy). But a good fun kind of weird, not the other kind of weird.
