Based on the chances of flaring in this upcoming sunspot cycle, and the risks they pose given the estimated 20% field loss (NASA/ESA/WGC data), there is a 20-25% chance of a solar superstorm in this coming sunspot maximum cycle (2021 - 2026). This could bring the arc discharge of the low L shell fields, grid collapse, or the final blow to the ongoing magnetic excursion/reversal (pole flip).
