Where was she at that she was drinking and partying with friends? Head-on collision with another vehicle? I thought bars and businesses were closed after a certain time. This is not making any sense to me. Sorry to hear about the terrible accident. Here’s to hoping she pulls through and recovers quickly! The young people don’t give a flying fuck. They all think they’re immortal and will put others at risk with their selfish deeds. No offense OP, I’m speaking about the generation as a whole. It really sucks that it takes a horrible accident for them to see their own mortality, and the ones that came out virtually unscathed, they probably still didn’t learn and will continue doing similar things. The ones responsible, that brought an innocent minor into their drunken joyride games. Prayers go out! I'm hoping she learns a lesson from this, but I'm not so sure. According to the bf, she called him and said they had already done the face surgery, yet the Dr told my sister a couple hours ago they were doing both surgeries at the same time. The bf is real controlling, and I think my nephew can't wait to get ahold of him. Bf seems like a real douche. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up leaving her (asshole move) after she gets better and is in recovery |

After her skin is completely healed...not even a scrape (NO BROKEN SKIN) you apply aloe (from the plant) to the scars...it dries in about 10 minutes then you apply vitamin E oil on the scars (stick a pin in a vitamin E capsule). I've had some amazing results using that old home remedy! If I am going to be damned...I am going to be damned for who I really am! |

I'm drinking til I get word that she's out of surgery. Talk to me glp. *Update pg 10 Now for the hard part. Do not expect the boyfriend to stay around. He's not going to deal with the scar on her face very well. Vanity is in all the youth and vanity does not like ugly scars or marks where everyone can see them. And as she is going to be laid up for months and no sex... Yeah, don't expect him to stay around. As far as his control over her goes.... LOL That is also over. She is not going to be worried about much but herself for a while as she might even find out she doesn't want him around since he is NOT going to be able to relate to her anymore. Her old life is gone and she's left him behind physically and soon emotionally too. He is going to go on with his little life and she is not going to be able to go on with him. It's a natural progression that will happen. He will get tired of having a "sick" girlfriend that can not do anything with him and his friends. He will not be able to show her off and he will have problems coping with it all. I might think different if she was married but she's not. He will go on soon enough. The problem is that once she is brought home, she will have to have someone stay with her, in the same house, all the time. Until she gets back up out of that bed, she will need 24 hour, not really care but you don't want her there all by herself. She is basically going to be helpless and that's a very horrible feeling..... And she's not going to be mobile enough for a little while to go into an adult day care so you will have to hire someone or get some family to help you out. You didn't mention the father of this girl but if he's there, he is going to help out. If not... she is going to need some help. Even grocery shopping for a couple hours a week will become harder because you worry. What if something happens and the kid is helpless and can not move? She will get worn down fast if she doesn't have help. If you can go visit for a month after she gets home for a short while, it would really help. At least until she gets to where she can sit up and is in rehab. Those wheelchairs are not that light. They can be pretty heavy depending on the chair. And she will use one. Also a walker. And have your sister get a bedside toilet. Like this one. Tell her to be looking around at flea markets and such for stuff like this. Hopefully insurance will cover it... [link to www.walmart.com (secure)] This thing is wonderful, just wonderful. Nasty for Mom but wonderful for the injured. Of course, she will not need it for a little while but she is going to want out of those diapers as soon as she can get out of them. They might have her hooked up to a cath which is a pain to deal with too. When the cath comes out, tell her to squeeze those muscles because she is going to pee herself. Damn caths. Tell her those little thin period pantie pads are great and carry extras because she will leak until her muscles get back in shape. Sucks really bad as it takes a while to get those muscles back and I still cough and pee sometimes dang it. These days, I take a shower and change. LOL BTW, wheelchairs do not fit in the bathroom doors, that's why you want the bedside toilet. Wheelchairs will fit every door in the house but the dang bathroom door. Stupid door is the smallest in the house. I have no idea why that is either. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Unfortunately, your niece is now an infant again. She is going to be upset that someone has to help her pee and such. It's embarrassing, even if it's your own Mom. At first they will keep her drugged up to keep her still. But after that, she is going to be awake and feeling.... well nasty. She is not going to be able to take a bath or shower for a while. Sponge baths only and they don't seem to get you really clean. Her first shower will be lovely for her. Reminds me. Shower chair is in her future. So equipment you are looking for is... wheelchair, walker, cane (maybe), shower chair, bedside toilet chair. See about renting a wheelchair or borrowing one because she's not going to be in it that long hopefully until she graduates to the walker. But she will need it a few months more than likely. And maybe more. The docs will know somewhat how long as they will go on averages. Your niece is not average. She is going to BEAT the odds. She is strong like you and her Mom. Have faith. Pray. God hears all prayers even if we don't like the answers. Eventually, like me, she will come to see that accident as a good thing. A life changing event she needed although she didn't want it. She will learn and grow from this and so will the ones surrounding her. It will be an adventure. A painful one but a journey she must take now as she's committed. 10 hours surgery? Nice!!! She's not that bad off if they only took 10 hours. I was 20 hours in surgery for just a crushed leg. LOL As far as babies go... don't worry about that. God takes care of that too. Where there is a will, there is a way. I'm happy for ya OP!!! Now if your niece doesn't crash, plan on taking a vacation. Don't you need a vacation? LOL Take that Trump cash and go see your sister. She will love you for any and all help you can give her. She is going to be worn down soon enough. Prayer is a powerful thing. Prayer make miracles happen. |
