My town, NATIONAL NEWS! Face masks, Mayor OVERRULED

Well, it had to happen. Our pansy ass mayor and city council tried a lockdown of our city. Things didn’t go as THEY planned, but precisely how I predicted.

Our sleepy college town has 50,000 residents. The state university closed after spring break and the students went home. Walmart sold out of toilet paper as usual. Then the social distancing happened. I’m a GLPer, am I going to let social distancing get in my way? Nope, I visit with Walmart workers and hear their gripes. The customers were getting mad at them. Next came the one door entry exit. I had to get a propane tank exchanged which wasn’t at THE open door. As I’m waiting for the person with the keys to come out, I visit with the kid guarding the door. He tells a guy that they needed to go to the other door and the guy f bombed him. I said, man I’m sorry you have to put up with that crap, he said it’s been like that all week. Said he’s just doing his job and he hates getting that assignment.

Now, our Governor says it’s time to open up the state. Our pansy mayor and council are “concerned” about the spread. Now I need to inform you, that at the time they were concerned, our city had 2 active cases that were not in the hospital. Our high mark had been 16 active with 2 hospitalized, zero, 0 deaths. So they proclaim that in order to open all people must wear masks or face $500 fine. A couple of fakebook posts later and they’ve changed the plan to fining the store for not enforcing the mask law. The law would go into effect Friday the 1st at 12:01am.

Where did I go Friday morning? Walmart. I watched as the poor kids were turning people away, making parents cover their 2 year olds faces, helping granny tie her sweater around her face. I don my M17 gas mask and walk in. The two kids enforcing the rule look at me strangely, one says “now that’s the way to go,”. I tell him that if you’re going to mask you might as well use something that works. Grab a couple of steaks and go to leave. As I exit one of the kids is yelling across the parking lot that “it’s the law!” The customer shouted back some shit. I stop in my tracks, turn to the kids and say “you know it’s an illegal order, it hasn’t been codified “. One of the kids understood. Yep, Mayor just pulled it out of his ass and expects you guys to uphold something that doesn’t exist. Within 2 hours the mask rule was repealed. And we are down to one active case out of 50,000 people, but our mayor is concerned

Hell yes people are fed up with this shit! I warned the Mayor that somebody was going to get hurt. These kids aren’t trained in law enforcement.. he backed down, but his city manager, Himmler, wasn’t too happy about it. Anyway thanks for listening, now on to the news!
