Only a person who happens NOT to know anyone who has had this virus would say something so ignorant. Those of us who have seen people struggle or who have fought it off themselves know that it can be a significant health issue.

People were not sure what to expect when it began. As it's played out, data has shown it's not as bad as was first described, but it's not nothing, either. It can have a serious impact on a person and their health - sometimes long-term. That being said, we cannot stay locked down forever - is it worth states going bankrupt? The lockdown wasn't meant to keep everybody in hiding and totally isolated from each other until it died out. It was meant to slow the transmission so as not to overwhelm the medical system. If your local or states are not overwhelmed, there is no reason to remain locked down. Let's face it, in the next couple of years (unless they should happen to get a viable vaccine developed), we are all going to be exposed to it anyway.
