Line up to the mind cemetery, now" Don't see how libraries are going to function in a pandemic world. Many are large and would serve hundreds of customers per day. Offer lots of programs and classes. Lots of homeless have been complaining that they just want them to reopen so they have a place to go and use the internet. Not likely. Curbside service for a library? Few online books because of greedy publishers who limit e-books by making them more expensive than hard copies so libraries have limited online books available. And they take a good chunk of property tax to pay staff. Pay staff for what? My local library said phone lines would be available with staff to answer "reference questions". How long do people pay when they aren't receiving a service? Don't see patrons browsing the stacks and touching everything. Temperature checks at the door? Welcome to the mind cemetery, indeed.
