The federal reserve is pumping in money in the stock market and banks like there is no tomorrow.
If they would have done like this.....for the small businesses.
we have 33 million people losing their jobs in the US.
If they would have given those people around 700 dollar a month for 5 months till hopefully the storm is over, we have a sum of 0,115 trillion dollars for that expense.
You give all the companies money for expenses, like rent and things they have to pay for to keep the company in business. Let us say for fun 3000 dollar for 5 months. I am just guessing that it would affect about 5 million companies, I take that numbers from the air.
For that we have a sum of 0,75 trillion dollars.

And we have to take in to account, the people that loose their jobs, the state still have to pay out unemployment benefits....So those 700 per/ person is not much if you count that in.

If these idiots would have done that, instead of paying out the markets and the banks, the could have kick started all economy after a half year, person still having their job and there companies to go back to.

Please give comments and say what you think. This would not even be one trillion dollars, and they have printed 6-7 so far. What the heck is going on???

 Quoting: Limpan

The only thing that could have saved the economy would have been a one-time debt forgiveness of all personal debt owed to banks. In the Old Testament this was known as "the Jubilee" and always brought great blessing to Israel. Actually, it was commanded by God. Unfortunately, the people running this Country, Left and Right, do not believe in God, his Laws or His Covenant.

Additionally, the Trump-Pelosi pork barrel stimulus should have gone entirely to American households. Not a thin dime should have gone to the banksters, big business, and the MIC. They had their bailout in 2008 under Obama. Had the 2008 Bailout gone entirely to American households, each household would have received approximately 60,000 dollars. It could have been the same this time around but the Trump-Pelosi stimulus was not concerned with helping average Americans. 1,200 dollars is a joke considering the amount of damage the Government-initiated Coronahoax has done to the American economy.

Also, it is obscene that in the midst of a national emergency with Americans losing their jobs and families being destroyed, that Left and Right continue to spend trillions on a bloated Military Industrial Complex and continue to send billions to other countries in foreign aid.

Re: I am not a economic expert. BUT
OP,

There really is no short answer to your synopsis however I offer this:

But propping up businesses, it keeps them afloat and underlying employees (hopefully) employed. A reason this works long term as opposed to giving that money to individuals is for competition sake which may seem counterintuitive at its face value.

Think of when Lehman and Bear went under. There were 1000's of highly skilled, highly accomplished financial professionals localized to NYC who were then out of work. Sure some aspects / groups were able to port to other firms however a far greater amount were not. Those jobs did not come back.

Now imagine this scenario on a national or global scale.

Keep the businesses from going under and allow for greater recovery in a more expedited fashion.

They are picking winners and losers, this is by design.

Why else would bad economic news send stocks higher. It's all fake.

But there are things that will cause them to go down or up. If oil can't stay propped up then stocks will fall. Also if the 10 year bond yeild stays low or falls the stocks will fall.

Gold backed currency to come and a reversion back to the old way of doing things. No more free money no more endless credit. You want a mortgage, it's 50% deposit down or no mortgage.

Look the correct way to have dealt with this issue would have been to just leave everything open. Then pass legislation to where the elderly, those with compromised immune systems and those with pre existing medical conditions could request a leave of absence for around 4 months and then draw unemployment for this duration.

If they would have done it this way there would have been next to no impact on the economy.

But its clear that the agenda is to cause as much damage to the economy as they can.

the only people becoming economically independent from small businesses are the business owners... nice try though

half of these fucking places wouldn't exist without paying a minimum wage, if they paid a living wage, they'd go bust. But don't be fooled by the big bosses sweet ride, he's still paying for it.

Regardless, no you cannot have vacation time and a .25 raise should be good for the year.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75299269

bsflagYou obviously are worth less than min wage. Were you marched in at gunpoint to work under such conditions? You obviously have limited options as this is the only employment you can find.Even the big box shit retail jobs were paying a couple bucks over min wage before the shit storm.3 dollars more per hour on top for weekends.
 Quoting: Shetland Pony Dog

Agreed. I hate all of the classism today where you have people like this guy talking shit about business owners, which shows he knows absolutely nothing about owning a business.

I'll give him a hint. Many times the small business owner is the hardest working individual in the whole business, and often when you figure out his hours to earning ratio there are probably employees that are making more money than him or her.

Also I'll give him another hint. There is a reason these companies are closing and going bankrupt just like everyone else. It's because they are living paycheck to paycheck just like everyone else is. The only people that are truly benefiting from this are the top 1% that are part of the machine and 1% is being generous here they are probably the top 0.01%.
