People and their weird phone habits
What's the deal with people in their 30's and younger and their weird phone habits? Here's a few weird things I've never understood:

1). People who have their phones on vibrate only. Why? It's like they don't want anyone to know they're receiving a phone call.

2). They get a call and immediately leave to go outside. I don't get this either. What are they hiding? Why must they run outside the second they take a call? What's so secretive? It's like they have this irrational fear of talking on the phone around other people. I grew up in an era when you had a phone in the kitchen or living room, when it rang you picked it up and talked regardless of who was around.

3). People will text you, and when my response is too long to text I call them and they don't answer. Like, really? You literally just texted me, I know your fucking phone is in your hand, and now suddenly you're missing my call?

Stop being so weird when it comes to phones. Turn your ringer on so you can hear your damn phone ring, take a call regardless of who's around and when I know your phone is literally in your hand because you just texted me, answer my damn call.

I don't get why the younger generation has become so odd when it comes to phones. People in their 40's and above don't do this crap. It's so weird to me.

1. it may be considered rude for everyone to hear your stupid ring tone blasting at loud volume

2. it is positively rude to answer the phone in front of decent company

3. i may have texted you because i am unable to have a talking conversation at this particular moment. see number two for further clarification.

Yeah, those are the lamest excuses ever.

1). If you're around people or in a situation where your phone ringing would be disruptive, then perhaps leave your phone elsewhere and out of reach? You digging through your pocket, fumbling with your phone is equally as rude.

2). See #1 and #3.

3). If you're in a situation in which you cannot have a conversation, see #1. Leave your phone out of reach. It is rude when you're in company of someone else, then you pull out your phone. That shows the company you're around that they're not important to you.

There was a time when the only phone you had was in your house, regardless of company you had over; the phone would ring, you answered it and conversation happened.

Re: People and their weird phone habits
I’m in my 40’s and do both 1&2, and I think 3 if I follow. My phone rings and receives so many texts I don’t want o listen to it. I’m not a slave to the tech; it’s a tool for my use when I choose it to be.

Stepping away when receiving a call is common courtesy, to both the people around me and the caller. The call isn’t anyone else’s business and shouldn’t interrupt those around me.

Not sure what your issue is with this-
I don’t care about your pronouns.
