Why is housing skyrocketing? Who is buying?? Foreigners are banned from entering the country and the average Joe cannot make mortgage. Prices should be falling like a rock.

Now home loans require 20 percent down with a 700 or more credit score..

So with high unemployment and more money needed to buy with a better credit score its going to be hard for house prices to increase..

Oh it will. The housing situation is retarded. In my city a house easily costs $500k and we have really no industry here. It’s all Californians with their house money moving here and then they’ve got no jobs, just paid for houses and trying to be “self-employed”. I can’t wait for the prices to come crashing down. We pay more now just in taxes every month than we did for the mortgage in the 90s. It’s insane.

I am currently looking for property in the NW, Washington State area and about 1/3 of the listings are over 3 months old and many have lowered the price around $10,000 on average..

Zillow and other sites show the price decrease over the time of listings..

OPer must be talking about Southern Cali or NYC house prices still going up but not the case in many other areas of America..

Those houses were priced at over $500,000.
