Masks have worked well in Korea. Combined with social distancing and aggressive contact tracing for the occasional outbreak, life is almost completely back to normal here.

In Korea, people are accustomed to wearing masks because of the fine dust pollution problem (also made in China). But in other countries it may be very hard to convince enough people to wear them for it to be effective.

It amazes me how many absolutely ignorant people reside on this planet.
You do understand that this"Virus" is so minuscule, that it really bares no consequence at all , right?

I understand the risks, I know the virus is real (to what degree I don't know) but I'm also not willing to cut off my oxygen to any degree if I don't have to, and we don't have to, we are in a safe zone. 1- The Lockdown was to stop the medical system from being overwhelmed. Not to eliminate the disease.

2- Liberty is being imposed on by sinister people trying to take every inch they can get from this crisis, but YOU give them that inch by not being careful and acting belligerent.

3- Wearing a mask doesn’t make you a pussy, not wearing one because what you think someone else might think does. It shows respect for the health of those around you and helps finish this Lockdown sooner. When the second wave comes. I'm only talking about wearing masks when you are in stores, etc. There's a lot of travel and transport that comes through our area. And because we are NOT in a hot spot, people are rather cavalier, and I understand that. I also understand how quickly we could become a hot spot and would like to avoid that.

What I am espousing is to lower the pathogenic load so that we can develop general immunity without bringing about a huge wave of new cases.

I know a large number of people who go to StL every week, and they take no precautions at all. Many who go to Springfield every day and also take zero precautions.

Virus and bacteria don’t just disappear if you avoid them. No disease has ever been eradicated. Case in point: polio. It’s just been give another name(s).

Oh dear. You do understand that people who are asymptomatic transmit this disease to those who are not infected? So, you can’t take responsibility for your own health when others can infect you. You could certainly completely avoid others to protect yourself, but if everyone did that our complex economy would come to a halt. Hopefully you don’t want that.
