CT is notoriously bad for slow walking permit applications. Someone in my family applied, was waiting for their local permit from "issuing authority" (local mayor, chief of PD or other, depending on town) which is needed to obtain state permit. The local authority is supposed to approve or reject in 8 weeks. It took them over 9 months and a massive runaround. "Fingerprints were smudged" and "it has not come back from the State lab where there are only 2 people processing fingerprints" and multiple other excuses. The applicant finally filed a complaint with the CT Board of Firearm Permit Examiners who are supposed to hold a hearing. The hearing date granted was OCT 2021 !!!! In the meantime, after about 9 months of b.s. the permit finally came thru. Probably because the board kicked the town in the ass letting them know someone was filing a complaint. CT sucks. |
