Anyone else notice a drop in food quality ?

preparing my own Lasagna, I have noticed the opposite.

2 different cans of beans were bad. some cheeses. Definite difference in quality in the grocery store now.

I generally buy only the basics in grocery stores. I cook 95% of my meals so I can't comment too much on grocery stores. I order most of my meat and chicken online from nearby ranchers.

Restaurant food has tasted like crap to me for quite awhile now, hence, I cook at home.

The US has horrible, chemical loaded food. It's garbage.

Lately it doesn't taste like more chemical, it is really LESS REAL FOOD SUBSTANCE.

So the actual black and garbonzo beans I bought were awful, compared to canned goods from 6 months or a year ago.

Either the processing is lacking? Lack of skilled labor? Or they are shortening the processing time to provide food on the store shelves.

Something is definitely up.

That's what I'm sayin, the quality of basics is getting WORSE!!! How can that be?

I swear to God when I got Sonic the last 2 times (in 2020) it smelled like garbage, actual rotten food.

Imagining the Ingredients in bulk Sysco Foods/restaurant supply fare is scarier than actually reading the labels at the store, which is terrifying once you want to avoid soy, soybean oil, palm oil, corn syrup (always under some new name), corn starch, etc.

We have opted out til it gets better and cook at home.

I cook at home save for the occasional double cheeseburger which provides a boost of hormones, antibiotics and B vitamins.

Whatever is in fast food, not counting all the garbage chemicals and ingredients, has something that's missing in 'quality' organic food. I think it's B vitamins but that's a guess.

Fast food is fortified with something that gives me a powerful energy boost the next day.

It’s been declining for about 2 years now.

And getting less for your money.

That includes grocery store food and fast food.

I eat out everyday I'm a driver, miss the salad bars in stores yes food is getting crappier.

I'm saying in the past 2 months.

These companies trying to rush to stock store shelves is LOW quality!!!

The timeframe of that is alarming. If the quality is going down that rapidly then by next year there will be less food with nutritional value on our shelves.

Almost every time I go out and get food, it gives me a stomache ache afterward. Too much soy and weird chemicals. Not sure if it's even real meat anymore. Now I just cook most of my own and don't get sick.

We are fucked. Food isn't going to suddenly improve!!!

Big time drop in the quality of produce.

Things have gotten really expensive.
