So over in the corner of the ring we have the current contender. A 300 pound behemoth sumo wrestler (china.) It likes everything squared and filed. Nice and neat to perfection. Like a walmart management chain on steroids. Then you have Taiwan. Taiwan is an off-the-books "U.S. Asset" as is South Korea and Singapore. We have the technology for Taiwan to replace China as the logistics center of the world. How exactly and what exactly are we doing to achieve this? Hard to say. But I do know this from a DoD official's mouth. "We are always testing our latest tech both logistics and supply chain in Taiwan. Bet your house on that." He said that while I was on layover on my way home for vacation during afghanistan tour. |

This focuses on 2030 not 2020 and yes they are right, by 2030 china would be unstoppable. This is why I believe the US and NATO have no option but to act now, and I think they know this and they will. They are just waiting for the catalyst then the shit will hit the fan. |

We have super duper missiles. This X38 thing is heading back to the stars, got no idea how many we have up there but I’m positive they are super duper too. I’m also sure we have sub detection world wide. After all, that is first priority number uno. All subs gone instantly. Next priority is incoming nukes. I know couple are gonna get thru, x38 will destroy the rest. Oh simultaneously with the first priority,,,, we also launched 247 nuclear big daddies. Ya I think we got this. First step I would personally take is to prod the enemy to make that lethal first step then, when hell rains down on them they also get the historical blame for starting it. |

[link to www.thetimes.co.uk (secure)] Correct. The main problem is that Western armies have these "hand tying" rules of engagement and a moral compass which inhibits their ability to win quickly on the battle field , which is why we cant win fighting insurgent on the back of 125cc dirt bike in Afghanistan and Iraq. We have the technology and hardware to Win any of those wars in weeks but are not allowed by federal governments to do so. China does not have those constraints and will sink the U.S. Navy pretty quickly 4000 mile away from Taiwan with hypersonic missiles that travel at over 18,000 mph. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72690298 There is no 100 mile away line of sight weapon. Curvature of the Earth and horizon. Exactly This is why you should never use the words military and intelligence in the same sentence. |

But you are right. Those other countries might not just sit that one out. |
