When the roast has been in the fridge a few days and losing its appeal I just throw it in a pot on the stove, simmer for a few hours, stir in half a cup of sour cream and season to taste. Quite delicious! |

TRUE: Pork fat can even help beef burritos ! ( ; ) Butter can help a steak if there is not enough beef fat! ( ; ) I eat SWINE, PORK, whatever...but we live in a clean society...I know of instances where pigs have been allowed to run wild and they will eat anything...dead or alive! One instance I know of in the 1970's a pig had eaten "planting seed" that was coated in chemical fungicide. The pig appeared healthy and was slaughtered for meat. The family that ate the pig meat was poisoned by the chemicals(at least one died and some had brain damage) in the pigs body that did not kill the pig. That was an "accident" but it is a warning. I also eat clams, oysters, "crawfish, catfish.... considered unclean by some...and they can be depending upon their environment. Preaching(teaching) over!( ; ) I keep Lard (pig fat)in my refrigerator because I don't have any Tallow (beef fat( ; ) Some nutritionists believe that the human body developed over time to NEED beef, or fat from (ruminant animals) ... ( In the United States, farmers markets are the best place to get tallow(beef fat) for a reasonable price ($2-3 per pound). Who wouldn't want bacon tasting soups. I'll give you 10% op. It's my money & nuts (risk) that'll make it happen. Bacon tasting soup? I dunno man sounds kind of cringe Actually, it's great tasting! Campbell's soups makes one called, "Cream of Bacon" it's hard to find, Walmart used to have it but now only a few dollar stores seem to have it. It's got cooked bacon crumbles in the soup and the creamy part really tasted like cooked bacon. Think of cream of mushroom soup but bacon,YUMMY Goes great with rice! |

When the meat falls off of the bone remove it from the stock and cut up the meat into small pieces and put it back into the pot. Add dried split peas. When they soften up add carrots and later on add some cut up potatoes. Best damn split pea soup ever. |
