Dow Chemical Co.'s main plant sits on the downtown Midland's riverbank. The plant has activated its emergency operations center and will be adjusting operations as a result of flood stage conditions, a spokesperson says.

LOL ! Still got them all and most of my toes to . I'm retired now so I'm good . got a few floater ribs and metal shavings in these they could not dig out but other then that I'm cherry .

The power plant near Midland is not nuclear.


There is one nuclear plant downriver near Monroe and three others on the west side of the state.

It is a conventional fossil fuel power plant, I believe.


I'm sure it is safe, though some might be without power if it is affected by the flooding.



The DOW chemical plant is more concerning, imo.

They say no danger yet, but there has been some run off.

It's the HQ plant for DOW which merged with Dupont last year.

I didn't think it was nuke, never was, it was going to be, but they went N. gas I believe. Been a while scene I've been down that way. I was going to work on that plane, but went out to Nevada on the Mohave generating station on a shout down, more money.

Michigan is my home state.

I wish they would shut down the four nuclear plants.
