Castor oil will help your bo. I had it and Edgar Cayce came to me in a dream and said to put a castor oil pack on the area. I woke up and found I had some castor oil and out it on and immediately I felt it working. Now when I get that pain I anoint the area every time I have a pain or cramp and it will take away the pain. I know from experience.it works. Cayce saved my life that nite.

Sometimes when have surgery, scar tissue grows out and “adheres” connects itself to a part of the abdominal wall, or to another part of the bowel. These adhesions can over time cause a twist or pulling aside of the bowel. You can get blocked, twisted, pained by this when different less fibrous bowel content becomes sluggish.
Movements can become blocked. The surgeon may open the abdomen and do a “lysis of adhesions”, freeing up the bowel. If the obstruction becomes complete, you may backup and your breath may reflect odors from those partially digested, lower contents.
It is a process that can be very uncomfortable. Some pain meds constipate
You so that can be a problem. Your doctor is your best advisor, listen to him. Dead bowel can lead to gangrene. tomato

Does it have to be castor oil?....I know he liked to recommend it a bit, where applicable.

My gawd, that would be so fabulous! Just put some oil on my belly and one of the most painful conditions subsides.

I finally made it home. Boy-howdy, but that was not fun....although I suppose I did have a good time with the staff. They were AWESOME, every last one of them. We had a good amount of laughs. I do feel like I've been rode really hard and put away wet. I'm wiped out....fooking bowel obstructions suck the very biggest donkey kahunas around. So horrible.

I found out earlier today from a nurse that there's a whole section of the hospital for Covid patients, and it hasn't been used once. It's been empty this whole time, and this is good.

They always do a CAT scan, to make sure you do not have an alien inside of you.

Mine was caused by a kink in the line, so to speak. A colonoscopy fixed the problem, and I have been on a high fiber diet every since.

Good luck!

Sorry honey....Get Well Soomsweet_kisssweet_kisssweet_kiss

I've been in this place before (BO, hospital, surgery, etc.). Funny thing is, the last time I was in this ER for all this BO crappola, they did not image my chest.

Now, I've had 4 mgs of morphine, and even I know the chest has so little to do with the small intestine.

The CAT Scan tech was cool, though. A patriot and boy howdy, he'd make a kickass GLPer.

And believe you me, if I wasn't in such dire shape, I never would've come to a hospital. I tried riding the obstruction out, but almost 20 hrs with it wore me out. The pain, the puking....it just got overwhelming.

Anyway, if you have to go to the ER, be prepared to have your chest x-rayed, even if it's a broken foot you have.

And please be nice, I've had a really rough day.

Like another poster suggested, self medicate with Taco Bell bean burritos. Even better, this month has no "R" in the spelling. Grab a few dozen recently harvested raw oysters, and that will cure it.

Guts not workin right? Use mineral oil. 2 Tablespoons before bed.

Your body does nothing with it. it's inert. Goes right thru you. But it lubes things up good and makes a clear division between stuff that is the body and what isn't all the way thru you. gives your guts a chance to heal correctly too.

Not often, but sometimes. I did the night the BO started...but I guess that's to be expected.

I've had the touchiest digestive system my entire life. Like I said I was a breech baby and it was a difficult birth.

After now ten BOs I'm an expert....heh, at least that's what the doc told me today.

So not something I want to be an expert at....chuckle

Are you getting enough water in your body? It happens to me when I don't drink enough water, which is not often.

That's the only reason I've noticed for it.

But listen, if you can, go to a doctor and tell them what's going on....that is if drinking water won't help.

How's your diet? Do you eat veggies?

I would try drinking more water and eating more veggies to see if that clears it up before going to a doc, though....but you don't want to have a problem and have it go as far as having a BO. I had a massive heart attack last year (I'm fine now), and these bowel obstructions are far worse to get through. Seriously, you do not want the experience.

I would probably hate to have a blocked colon. Nothing feels better than taking a big dirty shit. One of those ones that just blasts out, and leave you feeling 5 pounds lighter. You feel like you're floating on a cloud, and you know there isn't so much as a kernel of corn left in there. So empty that you have to do your belt up another notch. That's a great feeling.

I hope you feel like that soon OP.

I have the product Calm....and it makes water come out of my arse. I really wasn't backed up, though.

But now that I've had morphine three times I'll get stopped up, so after my intestines calm all the way down, I'll drink some of it...but I'm really not "full of shit." Being constipated was not my problem.

I just went to hell and back, and my body needs a rest and a break before I start throwing anything more than ginger liquids at it....especially something that's likely to irritate it, like the mag citrate.
