Everyone has their claim on truth, most people have their egos to serve, after all.

I'm just asking we move beyond that.

What the verse is saying is the dead are conscious of nothing because they're dead, no hellfire.

Yes but the irony is once they're elected they can tell the truth whether voters like it or not, at least for one term.

The Watchtower Society told young people graduating high school in 1969 that they would never grow old nor fulfill any career "this system" offers.

Can a candidate get elected by telling the situational truth, or by telling the voters what they wish would happen?

On May 22, 1969, the Watchtower lied. This a fact. It can be documented (I have a copy).

You can call it speculation or whatever you wish. It is still a lie - and it caused harm to many people.

Get over it. God specified no time frame. "“Keep on, then, seeking first the Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these other things will be added to you. 34 So never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties. Each day has enough of its own troubles" Mt6:33

If he believes that about himself it's probably wrong
to judge that especially by proxy. The only way to
tell is by having "dealings" with him otherwise

You need to believe first, that it's possible, once you are firmly believe than only you can find the way to achieve it. My way of staying alive may not be acceptable to you. Because I am parasitic scavenger. Find your own way to stay alive...

Mind over matter, is immortality really just a comforting illusion with no mechanism to enable it?

Physical immortality can be achieved by replacing body parts. Mental Immortality can be achieved by transferring your brain (which is also body part) in other body. Known as organ transplant.

Consciousness can be made immortal by having control over it. Believe me it's not that difficult. The day you can see yourself different from your body, you will find a way save it too. It's just matter of harnessing energy and retaining it. Immortality is 100% achievable.

Show me some living examples of this, you know like Timothy Leary, Mr Spock going where no man has gone before etc.

In the 60's I did LSD, weed, (what else did Navy wrenches have to do) watched every episode of Twilight Zone and never saw anyone make the transition to immortality, but it was good bragging rights for enlightened masters.
